This is a disgusting attempt to get more money from locals.

You have to be kidding me. So let's give tickets to all those 13 year olds . Let's piss off a lot of people who for years have have paid big bucks on weekly rental supporting your economy your businesses .

If the borough needs money, try enforcing fines for littering, including cigarette butts! Not discouraging people from the reason why they come! Bad idea.

This can be used to apply to anything you put in the water, boogie boards, surfboards, children's floating tubes and rafts. This is overreaching and unfair. This will cause angry tourist backlash.

I agree with Clayton. The politician that came up with this should really rethink his position in regard this matter.

I travel over an hour to kayak on LBI and spend money in Ship Bottom after a nice day on the water. If there is a charge for this, I will go elsewhere and advise all members of the 4 kayak clubs to go elsewhere. This is absurd. Fees at every other place I paddle are for motorized watercraft only. You are shooting yourself in your own foot. People will just head down to other launches and spend their tourist dollars there.

Non-motorized watercraft produce almost no wear and tear on the launch ramps and do not produce the noise that motorized craft do. I would think that paddlers would be a welcome respite to the drone of motor boats and jet skis. Further, multiple launches over the summer could make Ship Bottom a pricey place to paddle compared to other options. However, this fee is an effective way to discourage paddlers from ever coming down to Ship Bottom more than once so if the goal is to send our business to other areas then well played.
