Very much opposed. Signing this petition will do nothing. Please email [email protected] and I will send a prewritten template letter that you can send to council. This is THE ONLY WAY that we can stop this development before it happens!

Wow! If council actually lets this through, they'd be absolute pathetic in my opinion.

Building development on the BLS area is already at a maximum. Why on earth would we want such a ugly building that brings no value to the area smack bam on Bay St. Serious consideration of the ramefications of such a structure and its use needs to be re evaluated. BLS is not the place for this development.

Absolutely against this. There are already there are parking issues and this will only worsen them. Not to mention the transient occupants. This building is not needed or wanted here. It's only serving developers, who is looking after the community?

Brighton is a small suburb that is already bursting at the seams due to all of the other recent large apartments that have gone up. Now there is a proposal to build the biggest one yet?! This is a joke and should not happen. I live in Brighton and can already see how the building of this block will lower the living standards for everyone in the suburb.

As a resident of BLS for over 40 yrs I have seen it change from a friendly little beachside suburb to an area with heavy traffic , noisy motorbikes, rude visitors who leave garbage on our streets and beach, fighting and a scary place at times. I do not like walking in Bay st weekend nights and as I live on Bay St the traffic and noise are unbearable at times I am not against progress but I believe this will create more problems for an area that already has enough problems

The area doesn't support it. No Public transport and parking is already an issue!!!

Yet again another development in Sydney that has just been decided on developers and councillors to fill their back pockets but not asking or wondering if the residents of the area would like this. What will this achieve? What transport infrastructure does Brighton have to manage the increase in number of people? I fear for the future of Sydney and Brighton and well all the areas!

This development has no place in Brighton. It is already congested with traffic and foot traffic on weekends, more so in summer. The proposed 11 storeys is 2 storeys higher than the tallest structure in Brighton. It will overshadow neighbouring buildings and block out natural sunlight. The proposed 22 car parking spaces are inadequate to service 88 rooms, not to mention their visitors. Where will they park? If this goes ahead, it will introduce a transient element to the suburb that is only confined to the Novotel hotel. Totally wrong for the area.

NOTE- Boarding Houses DO NOT PAY LAND TAX - so why should ratepayers and taxpayers subsidize developers who pay noland tax ?Totally inappropriate ! not enough parking, will overshaow Bay St, overcrowded, will devalue property in the area, Ridiculous even its conception! Obviously no concern about teh area or its residents !

Brighton Le sand is being ruined by the awful buildings going up, we need low rise unit blocks with adequate parking.

Are they mad? It will be an eyesore and add to traffic congestion and parking woes.
