This site is within a residential zone where a lot of young families live and have put significant money into building or upgrading existing homes. The construction of a boarding house in this area would decrease the value of properties and angry many rate payers. Boarding houses should be close to essential services which this site is not close to. The prevalence of affordable accommodation in the vicinity of this site is more than enough. To add a further boarding house would undermine the entire suburb which is compromised already.

Long Jetty Motel and the Buccaneer are both emergency housing/half way houses, these are both a short walk (one Street) from this proposed location and are known for drug dealers and shady characters. The house behind Long Jetty Motel has been for sale for over 18 months now and they can't sell it, that in itself speaks volumes. This development needs to be in a location that's in walking distance to the services that people living here would require. McLachlan Ave, Long Jetty does not have those services. How about the developer build it next door to THEIR family home in Sydney and use this location as his weekender!

Boarding House ? Funny how we still like to use names from a long gone past when life was different and Boarding House was in fact a Boarding House. Not an Emergency Housing House as mentioned previously by another concerned local rate payer. I say sod off to the Council and Owner. The Jetty has enough unfortunates.

We have enough rough necks in this area, the salvos have a problem with homeless people living in the car park dealing drugs, the buccaneer is now used for emergency housing and also has a lot of dealers there too. It’s becoming a sad area and does not need this in the areas as well :(

Not enough employment opportunities for people living in a boarding house to thrive genuinely. It will simply promote ill behavior and crime unfortunately.

This area is in a growth phase and has become a popular location after being one of poor reputation. I understand everyone needs to live somewhere but there are other more suitable areas.

Nope, nope and nope Boarding houses are transient housing, so many people coming and going. More suitable for Gosford as there are more services this street is residential/families

There is enough rif raff around the area and bad eggs than to bring more in and lower property values. What a rediculous development
