GM you have to listen to your very loyal customers and reconsider this decision. We have been going for years and our children are growing up going to GM, but the thought of camping in wet Wales without a gazebo to shelter, feed and entertain young children fills me with fear.
This really goes against the family values of GM and I am surprised you have made this decision especially stating recycling as the reason. Gazebos and event shelters are expensive and rarely left behind. Surely a deposit scheme would be more pragmatic.

Terrible decision, especially for us Settlers! An events shelter is invaluable for a nice social space especially if the weather’s a bit temperamental. Please reconsider this decision Greenman.

This is a family festival in the rainy Brecon Beacons, it would be mad to prevent that lovely opportunity of everyone getting together on the campsite whilst staying dry too.

As a festival with its own microclimate of rain the event shelters and gazebos are imperative to having the best time you can in very wet circumstances.
I’ve been going with my family and friends every year (bar 2 so I could have my second child) for well over 10 yrs. This ban made me seriously consider whether I wanted to come at all this year, purely from a management of wet and upset children.
I leave the festival camp immaculate and as a group we pride ourselves on doing so. I’d be happy to pay a deposit to ensure I take every last bit from our camp - as this is something I always do.
Not having an event shelter or gazebo will change the whole festival experience if it rains this year, and as a result I think our whole group would seriously reconsider coming again. Which makes me very sad.
However paying so much money for a family of 4 is seriously not money well spent when your festival home is wet and soggy. A dry festival home means sanity and rest-bite in often very unforgiving weather conditions.
Please, please reconsider this ban. XX

Green man is part of our holiday and the weather in Wales for the week is very unpredictable - we share a shelter with other families that we’ve known for years - it allows us to spend time together.
Banning shelters for settlement is insane

I love Green Man like no other festival - but we come with lots of kids and people with disabilities & the shared gazebos mean we can look after them in the inevitable rain.

Those of us with young children can't shelter from the rain in event tents. 2020 will be my 8th time at Green Man but I might not come back in 2021 if the gazebo ban remains. Massively disappointing.

The majority of people who use gazebos only have one per four tents (ish). The majority taken them home. Why not have a refundable deposit scheme instead?

Good luck with the petition! Surely its the cheapo gazebos that get break and left behind... We just bought a new Coleman Event Shelter with sides esp for Green this year. No way I'm leaving that behind!

The weather is too unreliable for there to be no event shelters. Having missed a year once due to being drenched the year before we invested in a shelter which makes the whole thing bearable with kids if there is a lot of rain. Please review this decision.

As a disabled visitor, gazebos are practically essential. It means we can have the space to be supported by our carers and friends to dress , put boots on, and eat without having to go into the site whenever we are hungry. I am really having to think about going this year. Start a deposit scheme. People pay a deposit , put a ticket on the gazebo and get it back when the gazebo is packed away.

A ridiculous ban that totally goes against the family orientation of GreenMan. We've come with our kids since they were 1... With no shelter, how can you keep a pushchair or that sort of thing dry?

This is an absolutely ridiculous decision. Without the event shelter our 2019 festival would have been a complete disaster. The children need somewhere to be, outside, but sheltered from the elements, wether that is the rain or the sun.
