Recent pilot trials show culling is a total waste of life time and money, Vaccination is the only way forward and if bTB really is the issue make farming bio security a priority.

The UK now has a wealth of volunteer run badger vaccination groups including TBVAC in Devon, which can provide badger vaccination for considerably less than a badger cull, and with no harm done to badgers, rural communities or the local tourist economy. The UK government has no excuse at all for slaughtering a native animal which has not been proven IN THE FIELD to pass bTB to cattle, but only in a hugely contrived scientific experiment which could never happen in real life. Time to listen to the public the overwhelming majority of which are against the scapegoating of badgers.

The unnecessary slaughter of so many badgers is disgusting and upsetting to lovers of the wildlife of this country - not to mention the obvious disturbance to the balance of nature.

The lack of evidence that slaughtering badgers would eradicate bovine tb has to mean that the cull is wanton slaughter to meet the whims of the NFU

The present coalition's slaughter (not CULL) of badgers will never eradicate TB in cattle even if they kill every badger in the UK. Bovine TB will only be reduced/eliminated once farmers take biosecurity seriously. The present killing is a political exercise promoted by the Conservative Party in the hope of of being seen to be doing something and so retain rural seats in the next general election. It's a great pity that badgers have been chosen as the scapegoats.i
