Stop the Proposed 777 West Putnam 120-Unit Apartment Development

This locations is a major flood zone. I worked in this building for more than 10 years. The current building flooded in 2007 and I have the pictures to prove it. There is no safe place for pedestrians to cross at the traffic circle. And will add to the congestion in the part of town that is already the most dense. A horrible idea.

"special" permits always have a faint odor about them.

Endangering human lives by building in a flood plain is reckless. Did the builder get approval for environmental, conservation, watershed impact? Don't know how the Town could afford the legal actions that might arise after a hurricane or superstorm hits. I fully recognize that tax revenue will be generated until that point, but the potential risks to residents is unconscionable and shameful.

Both the traffic circle and route 1 are already a nightmare and and a safety hazard. There are not sidewalks on both sides of the road, and none in some places. There is no pedestrian bridge. The circle is jammed with cars for the gas station and turning toward 95 is hazardous. Too many people have been injured and killed already.

Traffic is already a nightmare in this area,we don't need 120 plus cars! Isn't this building in a flood zone?

Build it somewhere else. Pemberwick is congested enough!

Please consider the already horrendous traffic situation. This does not just affect Western Greenwich but also Port Chester.

I strongly oppose this apartment complex proposal. The traffic on West Putnam Ave coming down the hill onto Hillside Ave / N Main St turnaround is a disaster. The line for the Gulf Gas station on the Port Chester side backs up into the Carvel turn. After surviving the merging traffic, you can barely make the turn to Byram Road to get to i95. Commuters are becoming aggressive and this traffic circle needs revision by NY and CT. It is dangerous and unsafe. Adding 100+ more commuters and pedestrians to this area is a public safety issue. The Byram River is tidal and still needs a restoration plan so it doesn't flood Pemberwick again like in previous storms (2007 etc). The Byram River bridges in the traffic circle need a better design. Also as a mother of several children, I am very concerned about the strain on the Greenwich Public Schools. Please help me to understand how and why this special permit would be granted by our Town?!?

Please stop this project! This is already a dangerous, high traffic area. The proposed project would make it substantially worse. Also, there would be much more flooding, and additional air, water, and noise pollution which we just can't afford to have!

Too much congestion & traffic issues already in this immediate area. This proposed development simply CANNOT happen. It's in a direct flood zone as well. Enough multiple unit housing in Greenwich! Too much traffic as is. Enough already!

This is set to go up right behind my street. There is already enough traffic congestion in the area, find another place to put this.

This project is truly a bad idea. Another large "moderate income" building was built on Homestead Road within a few feet of this proposed project several years ago, and it has not solved any of Greenwich's housing issues. Adding another large project so close to the Homestead building would create a ridiculous density problem for the neighbors in this crowded area (including me). This project should be rejected.

Stop the 777 development!!

This property is on flood zone and on the list of contaminated sites. Building anything on it is dangerous and irresponsible.

There is just too much traffic in this area of town. Where are we going to put all these people and cars? That piece of property has always been a flood area. Let's be serious.
