The state has officially updated the grant requirements to ensure fair trail access for every registered rider. My family and I can finally ride without being turned away at the trailhead. I will be watching the upcoming grant cycle closely to ensure these rules are actually enforced.

Stop state funding to all clubs and land that does not allow access to all legal and registered ATV users.

This petition is to stop state club and municipal grant money to be given to any ATV clubs and land owners property that does not allow all forms of registered ATV users. Any vehicle that can be legally registered as an ATV and any user that has a legal privilege should not be denied trail access because of the type of vehicle they registered. There are many many miles of trails in the state of Maine that does not allow all paid, legal, registered, users to access all trails. The membership money from those users should not in any way be given to the clubs or land owners for the usage/milage of that trail lost, and that trail should no longer be considered part of Maine's state ATV trail system if not all registered (legal) ATV users can access that trail, again denying any state club grant or municipal grants to the clubs and denying any development and maintenance funds to be given to the land owners of the trail they are denying to all paid and legal ATV registrants.

I have been hearing from so many of you who are tired of paying registration fees only to be turned away at the trailhead. I am currently compiling a list of these restricted areas to present to the state office because our trail system should be open to all legal riders without exception.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you are tired of paying your registration fees only to be locked out of the trails your money helps maintain. It is overwhelming to know that my frustration with these arbitrary access bans is shared by such a massive community. This momentum proves we are ready to demand fairness for every legal rider in this state.

I ride a two-wheeled vehicle and I too believe that I should also be allowed to access and ride the legal ATV trails that are funded and maintained by off-road tags and municipal grant money.
We have been enjoying this family friendly sport for a few years now since discovering it but just this year have noticed more signs going up disallowing dirtbikes. Our family registers 7 bikes per season. I wonder who much revenue would be lost, overall, if bikes just stopped registering.
You guys can’t take our money and cut off access, if you have someone doing something illegal call the cops
I have a dual sport motorcycle registered every year for street and trails. I am very respectful to all signage and never tear up the trail. There is no reason that I can not go on a trail with a single track vehicle, but ATVs can go on with huge mud tires and destroy the trails. It is not fair that my registration fees go to fund those trails.
I pay my dues and ride respectfully. I give the state over 300 dollars a year to ride two bikes in the state I grew up in. This is unacceptable. If the landowners agrees to having an Atv trail on there property they agree to allow anyone with an valid Atv sticker!!
I paid for an ATV reg and there’s no trails I can ride!

If you’re allowed to register an off-road vehicle, access should be unrestricted. Otherwise funds that are collected through off-road motorcycles should not go to any clubs that restrict access. Plain and simple.
