I love Rothwell and the people who live here but if like me your sick of speeding, dangerous driving and even worse parking, sign this petition so we can get some kind of traffic calming on our roads
Cecil Street Is a main direct route to the local Infant & Junior school and the seriously un thoughtful parking of alot of residents, make parents and children have to walk on the road to get passed with motorbikes and cars tearing down the road quite clearly over the 30mph speed limit. It is only a matter of time before there is a fatal accident.
The same can be said for many if not all the streets in Rothwell, what started out as a road specific petition has Turner into a town wide request due to the number of messages from people saying their streets are just as bad..
Cars parking on Double yellow lines, cars parking on corners speeding up and down roads. Cars parked so far on kerbs pedestrian access has to be via the road.
This has got to stop!! Even worse is that a vast majority of the offenders are parents with children!!!
Kettering Borough Council have said they won't do anything because there hasn't been a fatality yet!!
Shall we wait for one before something is done??
Perhaps your child needs to be knocked over before something is done to stop this.
Today alone I've seen 40+ cars speeding today alone and a motorbike doing wheelies..
This needs to be stopped.

There needs to be something done all over Rothwell, in a lot of places even 30 mph is too much, I live on Moorfield Road and it is becoming seriously dangerous just to get out from my house, definitely needs 20 mph limit in a lot of places in the town.
The whole centre of Rowell is a nightmare!

Drivers always drive too fast near the school and parents just dump their vehicles anywhere! No room for people walking, I am a driver myself and I am extra vigilant around the school etc.
Parking on pavements is becoming a regular thing. Needs to be stopped.
Slow down!!
I have witnessed on many occasions multiple cars speeding along Cecil! It's ridiculous!

As a professional Driving Instructor, I support this petition. Only this morning a white van raced along between the parked cars and slammed his brakes on at the end of the road. Only a matter of time before a nasty incident.
