HELP US PRESERVE THE ENVIRONMENT. STOP THE SPECIAL ZONING!

The area that is proposed to be rezoned as "recreational" is supposedly a protected wetland buffer zone. The local department of environment has already failed to protect this area from constant mowing and the planting of non native species. Let's hope that they decide to do their jobs and protect this area by not allowing land owned by a corporation to create a trailer park on a buffer zone! Our taxes are paying for one level of government to rezone when another level of government has already designated this area as protected!

Government depts should work together much more than they appear to in this situation. Taxpayers are paying for one level of government to allow trailers on a wetland buffer zone that another govt dept has declared protected!

Really a bad idea!

As a former owner of a cottage property at Brule, I strongly support this petition.

Wetlands are wetlands and they have a tremendous impact on our environment. Since we have bought our cottage/home at West Brule in 1997 we are seeing changes on the beach, to the coastline (natural and manmade) and especially the Bideau (wetlands). As all year residents we see the altering due to "climate change" plus the copious amounts of people infringing on these beaches. "Parlee Beach" has expanded almost to the Bideau and on the eastern side it has become something like "Coney Island" as an innocent guest said to us one day!! Please help us preserve what is left before it is too late.

There is no justification for allowing trailers and/or RVs to locate on "provincially significant (and/or sensitive) wetlands" and there is no justification for allowing campgrounds to be located on the main street of Shediac or the Point du Chene Road.. Trailer parks belong in the woods away from wetlands and away from public view. The officials of Beaubassin-Est are determined to make this region an over-crowded trailer park instead of a bustling economic and residential centre of activity and living.

Our wetlands and coastal environments need all of the protection they can get. This type of development needs to be stopped. The town councils in this area need to recognize the value that wetlands contribute to the wider coastal ecosystem.

It is sickening to learn of another environmentally sensitive area being destroyed .Shame,shame on anyone who proposes or supports such a thing in NB or anywhere in Canada

I hope that our council will seriously consider the potential damage to the environment and to the community if they give preferential treatment to this corporate developer. In my opinion, approving the re-zoning application would set a bad precedent and start us down the slippery slope to serious environmental degradation. Aren't there enough trailer parks in this area already?
