This imposition of a parking fee gives me less incentive to bring a car to campus because I don’t have $300 dollars to spare.

I don't know if signing this will do anything but it's worth a shot!

I work at the Rheem campus and do not come to campus very often. To pay that much, $300, for something I don’t use much does not make sense.

Charging staff for parking is non-Lasallian.

If I am to pay for parking, I would like to be guaranteed a spot when I arrive to work. I do not support any parking fee. I drive an all-electric vehicle.

I think it would make more sense to offer incentives for people (whether faculty, staff or students) to carpool than to charge parking fees.

leaving saint mary's because of the already outrageous tuition, not to mention the recent increase. Take the advice from doctorate level academics about your finances SMC, they were given degrees for a reason!

The proposal to link fees to salary seems fair.

This is so unfair to the lower paid staff and faculty in our community. In addition to future rises in rate - is there any guarantee there will be more parking available than there is now, just because there is a cost? Also, the impact on students and enrollments seems quite risky.

It is not fair

It is unfair, and also unnecessary. Tuition is already very expensive and parking should not be another way to get more money.

If the College needs money, perhaps they should stop paying overrated bureaucrats and return to the Catholic tradition. Donors would give money!!! SAD!

I had to pay a $80 fine because there were not enough parking spaces during the day. I frantically parked in the lower lot of De La Salle in employee parking or I would’ve been late to class.

I would urge decisions makers to consider that the average salary SMC offers it's employees tends to be significant lower than similar jobs at other institutions in the area. My departments makes 10-30% less than our local counterparts (and we haven't gotten a raise in 2 years). Losing another $300 annually to park here is significant and I urge SMC to not institute this fee.

I wonder if the College is in deep financial trouble that faculty. staff, and students are being charged parking fee that has been free all these years. Why us? I oppose this initiative. Lino Rivera

The parking cost situation was one of the reasons I left working at Saint Mary’s; I simply couldn’t afford it .
