After paying tuition which is very expensive, there should be no additional $300 parking fee. It isn't fair to force the students and staff to do this. Im already broke!

The institution has already increased tuition by 3.5% with no specific monetary goal, so to do this would be infuriating.

This is a terrible new proposal. The Bay Area is hard enough to afford the cost of living. To inflict $300 on students and underpaid faculty is preposterous. It will create a bigger problem of overflow parking along Moraga Rd. If this becomes the new standard, I will reconsider donating money to SMC in the future.

This amounts to a pay cut that raises disproportionately on the lower paid on campus. We say no to regressive fees, come up with better solutions.

$300 is not affordable for anyone by today's standards. There are those of us putting children through college and this will have a huge impact on finances and for a single parent such as myself this is not acceptable.

Are they implementing the other alternative transportation options as well? Like the shuttle? They had agreed to not charge for parking until there were more viable options.

this parking fee will cause people to park on Moraga Road and throughout the neighborhoods and walk in to campus. Has anyone considered the negative impact this will have on the surrounding neighborhood? And we know they won't support tons of random cars parked on their streets. The tiers for the fee for staff are incredibly short-sighted, $300 for someone making $38K is much more than someone making $59K, $61K versus $99K, etc. This is just short-sighted.

As an Administrative Assistant I feel it is extremely unfair to have us pay for parking when we have not received a raise and our salaries are not competitive with the rest of the bay area job market. Having to pay parking will make many of us rethink about working at St. Mary's.

Please also consider the financial burden this fee will add to those who clean our buildings, cook our food, wash our dishes, tend to our gardens, and maintain our facilities in working order.

We haven't had a raise for awhile and now they want us to pay for parking. Some of us don't get $60k-up and now to add an additional bill $300 for parking where you work is outrageous. Other places buses to bring their employees to work so they don't have to waste on gas etc.

A good alternative to the difficult parking issue is to build innovative parking spaces. For now, let's not make it hard and proceed to the removal of the parking fees.

After a 3.5% increase in financial tuition for the following school year, there is now a fee for parking. The mere fact that they are monopolizing parking spaces is nothing more than a capitalistic move that is done to garner more profit. The fact that visitors to are required to pay when they visit the school poses another issue to prospective families, who are interested in sending their children to SMC, if it is worth the risk to come here given the expensive tuition as well as the outlandish parking fees that are being applied.
