We already pay enough for classes. We shouldn’t have to pay for the athletic gyms when we’re not atheletes. That’s where all the money is going to anyways!
And there’s already no parking for commuters, so buying a pass to not even be assured parking is unreasonable

Thank you! If the administration does not take income into account they will be effectively ignoring the ways in which our Lasallian Mission should be translated into real-life action.

I am both staff and a graduate student at SMC. I find this potential change to be very unacceptable. If the school needs to make more money, they should focus on investing more in student life, both on campus and in Moraga. Drawing the attention of more potential students to come to SMC and pay tuition is far more important

if I'm going to start paying even more for this school it better be for better food not to park.

We need a better bus system before you can charge for parking.

As an institution that readily invests in fossil fuels, I find it interesting that THIS is how the administration is choosing to respond to an environmental impact report. This fee is even more targeting than the traffic violation fees which are inconsistently assigned. There have already been major tuition increases without any clear financial goals. Outrageous parking fees are NOT a solution!

As a student paying for her own education here, largely through financial aid and loans, this is just unacceptable. Tuition for next year is already increasing and adding this on top of everything is really going to make it difficult for many students to attend SMC.

Tuition is already expensive enough so paying for parking would add to the cost and most students and faculty are not able to afford the parking costs.

As a commuter student, I already commute from home because I cannot afford to live on campus, so what makes the administration think I can afford such an expensive parking fee??

It's awful that you are trying to make people pay that much for parking this school is so expensive as it is there is no reason to make people pay

This is an inconsiderate measure with an impact that would affect SMC's vulnerable populations most.

I cannot even afford tuition at this institution and am drowning in student loan debt. Please don't make me also pay for parking when I am just trying to get an education and prepare for my future.

Students are currently struggling to pay for tuition and other fees as it is. I work in Financial Aid and already see how much of a sacrifice people are making to attend here.

Although I was not completely against a parking pass fee, now that I see the suggest amount, I have to say, 300 dollars for a yearly pass is absolutely ridiculous. There are certainly better solutions out there that are inclusive to all identities such as those with lower socioeconomic statuses. As a student who has to commute to school and as someone who already pays for my own living and education expenses, 300 dollars is far too much. In fact, that is more than I spend on a monthly food budget. 300 dollars may seem like a small price to pay for some, but for others, this is the difference between eating for a month or not, etc.. Please find a better way!
Pls no
god is not a gael for this

$300 just for parking is ridiculous.
