Hi folks, your supporting words are greatly appreciated. We are in need of our voices to be heard. Please join the Friends of Simcoe Forests and other concerned citizens at the Town Hall Meeting hosted by Alex Nuttall (MP) on August 17, 2016. Location: Minesing Community Centre 7-9pm. The first hour will be discussions on Federal issues. From 8-9pm will be dedicated to the OPF/MMF. This is your opportunity to discuss and express your concerns about industrializing our County Forests Tracts.

There are many many sites that are less sensitive to the environmental impacts of the proposed facility. This needs to go elsewhere. If the Liberals are so highandmighty about the environment then they should do their homework on destroying this area.

I can see why the planners looking at this site on paper from a location point of view like it. Reality is different. The exit will be on a hill on a very busy road...an accident waiting to happen. Putting an industrial facility in a pristine forest near wetlands makes no sense except that it will be out of sight. BAD IDEA!

Why turn agricultural area into commercial? Doesn't make sense that this needs to be so close to a residential area either?

This is wrong and should be stopped. We need all the forestry and wet lands we can get why the hell take away the ones we have.

A decision that will negatively affect the forest, the land, the water and the air, wildlife and will
bring the truck traffic & its accompanying pollution and so reduces the appeal of the rural community of those who chose this area for its current existence. Why is this a good idea?

As a springwater resident this is the last thing I want. Not enough thought was put into the short and long term consequences of this decision. We need more schools. A bus system. Not a dump next to residential areas and on top of an environmental haven.

I would like to sign the petition because it is not the right location to put a waste management processing plant. It is going to be close to Nicholyn Farms where we do our grocery shopping. They have an organic farm and are trying to offer the community healthy food to eat.
Please locate this facility in another location that does not harm the natural environment.

We commend you for your forest management efforts. The neighbours of this site are also firm believers in preserving our forests. At least one neighbour is also on a forest management program for the same reasons you listed. This County forest (Site C136) is an important wildlife habitat and a natural corridor. If converted to Industrial and bisected with a roadway for garbage trucks and tractor trailers it will impact a larger area and the demands on other forest in the area. We strongly encourage you to express your concerns to the County of Simcoe and the Township of Springwater.

This is an environmentally sensitive area with nearby businesses and residents. Converting a forest into an Industrial development for use as a garbage transfer station and an organics processing factory when there are properly zoned Industrial locations with existing infrastructure to support such facilities does not seem to make sense.

We're very sorry to say that one of our Forest Tracts was chosen. Site C136 is the preferred site. This 208 acre beautiful forest is located at 2976 Horseshoe Valley Road W and it needs your help to protect it.

The County of Simcoe is quickly moving forward with the process of turning this beautiful Forest Tract (Site C136) from Agricultural zoning to Industrial. We do not accept a garbage transfer station and an Organics Processing Factory as responsible land uses for this environmentally significant, interior forest.

People purchase country properties for the beautiful nature, peace & quiet..they choose to be away from all the hustle & bustle of city life. Putting a transfer station close to their homes is unacceptable & will devalue their properties..when there are so many more places that can be chosen away from residential areas. We live in a vast country surely there are many more areas to choose from.
