Stop Sir John Thursby School removing muslim girls headscarf

This is not acceptable, girls that chooses to wear the head scarf, wears the scarf with thier own choice and comfort. School supposed to be a place of learning and comfort, I don't see how hijab affects thier learning.

no student even agree with this bs rule they just made nd these scarfs are for little kids nd the schools not letting yr 10 choose the jumper colour either nd untill now all years were able to choose this discusts me cuz they teach us to be respecting towords other religion, now wheres the respect ? school says yu dont wear ih for fashionable reasong you wear ih for 'modesty' the new scarf bearly covers your head. And yet girls withought scarf can do whatever they want streighten ih curl it, why not ban that

I'm devastated when I first learnt of this abnoxious and ignorant stance. It defeats the purpose of the right to freedom! As a former SJT stident, I'm completely gutted that an outstandingly profound school would put place such an act! I hope this is just a temporary ban. #freedom!

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the school

The Imams and leaders of the community should have be consulted and listened to their choice in this matter as the hijabs purpose is to promote modesty whicb leads to better manners and character that will make your school better in terms of behaviour etc

Simple solution, allow students to (mass) walk out of school until policies are revised and changed or transfer to other schools that are more tolerant and sympathetic to the desired dress code.
