Kenneth is an extremely busy street every morning with people rushing to get their kids to school and get to work. The intersection of Kenneth and San Jose is one of the two corners closest to the entrances of Emerson Elementary School. Any pedestrian who has to cross Kenneth is in danger of drivers who drive through fast , especially drivers who suddenly pull out from the curb that the pedestrians may not see coming until the last moment. My daughter and I have been nearly run down by drivers turning left from Kenneth onto San Jose. They're focusing on finding that rare break in oncoming traffic and don't watch for pedestrians. If the oncoming traffic had to stop, then they could take their time and make the left turn more carefully. Let's not make it one of those situations in which a child has to be killed in order for two stop signs to be installed.

I have lived in Burbank for 15 years. This intersection needs a stop sign. I have had two near accidents because other drivers assume there is a stop sign for North - south running traffic. Very dangerous and just a matter of time before a child gets seriously injured or killed.

We not only need new traffic signs around Emerson, but also speed bump on Kenneth Rd, San Jose Ave. and Cypress Ave., since many drivers do not follow the speed limit guidelines, and often drive with great speed, even during morning and afternoon hours, when children are coming in and out of school. Cars will not even stop for pedestrians with children who are trying to cross the streets around the school.
