As a former student, I'm disgusted that the school is perusing a change in uniform based on antiquated gender roles. Girls have the right to feel comfortable at school in what they want to wear, and boys should be taught to respect a woman whatever their attire, because they're not baboons. Frankly, by perusing this you tell girls that it is acceptable to judge them and treat them however people like if they're dressed provocatively, and you tell boys that they aren't accountable for their actions if they can see higher than a girls knee.

How can the length of ones skirt disrupt there education

This is idiotic, as a student of Sharnbrook for many years there has been multiple attempts to change school regulations that are not necessary. Although some of the skirt lengths are too short there is no enforcement in the current guidelines. Teachers and staff meerly shrug off any disobediance of the school rules and refuse to enforce the regulations they created. If the school were to enforce the current rules there would be no issue.

I appreciate that the length of skirts has bothered school for generations. If the school dictated a model of skirt and dictated which shop it has to be purchased from ( like they do with blazers and blouses) then there would be no choice in skirt length. Girls could then continue to wear skirts if they chose. Banning skirts completely is an unfair solution for girls. Many girls are uncomfortable with how trousers look on their changing bodies. Negative Body image is a huge chasm which is surely not wise to meddle with whilst the girls are in the most important years of their education and development. Don't ban skirts....just enforce skirt regulation.

This is a ludicrous display of draconian law. The proposed measures set forward by Mr Rattu serve no purpose but to quell the individual expression and self identity of the female students.

i'm so sick & tired of male students and male teachers being prioritized above female students. & not for any reason other than their apparent inability to focus on whatever the hell they're doing because a girls shoulder or part of her leg is showing. we are being sent home because men cant control themselves. & it isnt even like we show up in bathing suits or underwears or whatever, ITS SHORTS & TANK TOPS & SKIRTS. a boy could come to school in boxers (which actually has happened), & not a word would be said to him. but a girl could come in a pair of shorts or a skirt or a tank top & be SENT HOME- compromising HER education because the boys of the school are apparently unable to control themselves. ridiculous. hell yeah i'm signing this petition.

Instead of making women change because of men, teach the men not to use women as sexual objects. A women shouldn't have to be modest to be respective.

I'm a girl. I'm a badass, proud and free girl. The had the chance to be born in a more or less equal country, but there are others that don't have that chance. We need to stop this crap that has been going on since ever. We need to unite everyone young or old, female male or non-binary, we need to fight this problem and resolve it as soon as possible.
