Seriously? The issue is not the fact that girls wear skirts to school, it's that young girls are being hyper sexualised, and the justification that it's "a distraction" is a complete joke. Instead of teaching girls that they are the problem and reinforcing the patriarchy, maybe try informing those that are distracted to simply deal with it, we will still be girls whether we are wearing skirts or not, and the people that are distracted will remain so. A sign of femininity is not a crime, the distortion of it is.

It's stupid how your fashion is dictated because it's apparently distracting for the men. That's societies so called "gender equality".

As a current Sharnbrook student, I totally agree with this. Hopefully Sharnbrook will respond to this.

As an ex student, sadly I can't say I'm surprised. The uniform 'guidelines' have always restricted any form of personal expression. This way of thinking is the reason women and girls of all ages are scared to come forward in cases of sexual assault and rape. Stop blaming girls and teach boys not to sexualise things that don't need to be sexualised!

I just wanted to say this is totally crazy. Please stop sexualizing young women and not teaching men to stop. Especially at a school. I 100% agree that young girls should be able to wear clothing that shows their legs, shoulders, belly bouton ect. It's hot outside! Stop teaching men it's okay to sexualize women at a young age. Thanks and best of luck ;)

Tell this sexist male school rule to keep it in its pants and stop shaming women.

As a previous student of Sharnbrook I found their current dress codes a bit of a joke. However, this is ridiculous. Rape Culture at its finest.

No more! Despite being a man, I should in no case have any control over what a woman wears! Go! Spread the word!
