Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

I do not want to lose the use of something my taxes pays for to a group of people who do not support our society.

This is not an answer to the problem. It just moves it into more areas: The council needs to seek longer term answers!

This is not the solution - my sons preschool is on a public park. Needles are a serious threat for our children. Lets work on a proper solution

Do not allow the growing influx of homeless immigrants to take over Seattle public parks. We cannot manage the health and safety risks. This flood of homeless immigrants needs to be stopped -- not encouraged. Enabling homelessness is not a solution.

I am very strongly in opposition and have written the council regarding the issue.

Housing, not tents is what is needed. Stop dithering and do what's right. If you need extra money, tax amazon what they should be.

This bill is a truly bad idea. Look at the garbage overflowing outside many of the current camps, then imagine it ruining our cherished parks--along with needles, feces, and an excellent chance of fires that could threaten our precious trees. What could the council be thinking to come up with this truly harebrained scheme?

Please do not pass this, it will only make things worse for all and not actually help homeless in any meaningful way.

I urge the city council to vote against the proposal to allow homeless individuals to camp in parks and green spaces. Just watching the clean up of the jungle should be convincing enough that such encampments are not a good idea.

We have a responsibility to assist any without a home, but this proposal will not solve or even help the problem. Please follow the Mayor's leadership on this issue

This would be a disaster and a disgrace for our beautiful city. Please DO NOT go forward with this plan!

As a Seattle resident, I'm paying for you guys; your food, drug treatment, and so on. Please! at least keep the city clean, please! don't leave garbage anywhere.

Shame on you for even considering turning our parks into encampments. Does this mean I can stop paying my taxes for parks?

Please keep our parks and school yards safe for our children!

I feel we have a deep and long term responsibility to assist the homeless in living better lives but I don't think using park space is the right strategy when thinking of our community as a whole.

This is not the way to help the homeless. The parks are for everyone to visit and enjoy not to live in

This is just another way to make the living easy on the bums, tax payers shouldn't have to pay for the living of the homeless. Hard earned money shouldn't be thrown away on providing shelter for all the drug addicted homeless citizens that plague the streets.
