Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

I don't feel safe already with the homeless people camping at Greenlake. Please don't exacerbate the problem by broading homeless camping priveledges in Seattle's parks.

The idea of homeless encampments in our public parks is appalling. I have lived in this city for 72 years and can't believe we have such morons running out city. It is shameful!

This makes no sense and appears to be an abuse of authority. It's so rediculous that it makes me wonder if we're being manipulated

bad idea, didn't work in Portland why should it work here. Greenlake is for families, why make it more dangerous?

This bill will destroy our parks. This will not get people off the streets. This is the wrong move for all concerned.

It should never be ok for anyone to camp in ANY public space especially since the city does not clean up all the trash along the highway green spaces. Our city deserves better.

Please keep our parks dedicated to their historic intent. There are better options for those affected.

One of my favorite aspects of living in Seattle is the ability to enjoy its parks in a safe and unharrassed manner. Particularly as a female, I value the ability to use these areas without fearing for my safety. As a nature lover, I also appreciate the care that city residents take to maintain the city's parks. When I compare that to the conditions downtown where there are tents on sidewalks and I feel concern about walking on certain streets, I worry that I will no longer be able to enjoy one of the best parts of living in Seattle, if the city passes this bill. And in fact, you will likely drive many residents out of the city if you pass this bill.

The parks should not be for camping!

We have invested millions of dollars in our city parks and this will ruin them for all other use.

I do not support allowing homeless people to live on City owned property intended for other uses by the population at large, not just the unfortunate few that claim they have nowhere else to go. Parks are intended to be spaces for sports fields, picnic areas, jogging and walking, and other general recreational activities and to be used by all. Sidewalks are part of our transportation infrastructure. Maybe that sounds like exageration but imagine having to step into busy traffic on one of our major arterials to walk around someone's camp. Now imagine doing it during rush hour with small children in tow.

Please do not allow the homeless to set up camps in the Parks or on public land ! That's a very bad idea and we'll give our environment a black eyye.

Develop a sustainable approach to this issue verse a temporary bandaid that will hurt more upon removal

I think that allowing homeless encampments in public parks and other places will make more problems than it will solve. We must find another way to deal with the problem and provide mental health services and shelter to people who need it.

Lets take another look at this problem

Absolutely shameful the way the mayor, his new homeless czar or any of his lackies are so out of touch with the public. How much more trash and crime is it going to take before the voting public wakes up? We stay out of Seattle at all costs now. Too scary with all the druggies and thugs asking for money every 10 feet.

Bad idea.

This is not a solution to homelessness !!! More tiny houses as transitional housing, not tents!!!

This "solution" lacks compassion and a true understanding of the problems it would create for the rank and file voting citizen.
