Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

this city is looking horrible.

This is no solution to our city's homelessness. This is a quick "fix" to a dire problem that needs appropriate attention- how to properly care for those who have been forced out of their homes, the mentally ill, drug addicts, etc. simply designating camping areas in parks doesn't provide any support.

I take my kids to Seattle parks frequently and I am very uneasy with the parks being turned into homeless dwellings. This is not the purpose for our green spaces and I am disgusted that all of Seattle's underpasses and easements have turned into unregulated homeless encampments that leave our city looking like a giant garbage dump. We need to provide meaningful services to assist people not just perpetually allow them to reside in our green spaces. Do not allow this to happen.

Keep homeless camps out of public parks

This is an insane plan that would not only encourage a permanently homeless population segment but would also draw transients from other cities - free camping, legal pot, and the city would be forced to provide sanitation services - ludicrous.

Let's provide options to address the root causes of homelessness from behavioral health to rehab and beyond. Let's not turn our parks into housing.

I have lived by these and seen first hand how dangerous they are for the public.

This is NOT the answer. Putting our children at risk and allowing homeless people to take over parks and ball fields. City council needs to reconsider immediately.

I am all for taxing for additional shelters. Let's keep our parks nice for everyone.

Please don't ruin the parks I enjoy with my family.

We live in Greenlake and use the park frequently with our two young children. We do not feel comfortable using our parks with tent communities living in them for a variety of reasons - safety, garbage and drug use are key reasons. Please do not pursue this any further. Thanks

I would hate to see our parks become littered and unpleasant for family and other city residents. To allow homeless to camp in our parks is not a reasonable solution.

Council Bill 118794 is the most misguided bill to be considered with any degree of seriousness since I moved to Seattle twenty-five years ago

I love this city. It is shameful the majority of this council will diregard the safety and wishes of the people in order to obtain future endorsements. It is embarrasing when out of town guests comment on the garbage, "urban camping", and lack of action to keep the city clean and safe for the tax paying citizens.

This is not an option. Our parks will be destroyed,our safety compromised.

This is the least thought out plan for a major problem I can imagine. Would rather have parks developed into housing and have my 3 school aged kids play inside than have the awesome parks we currently have turn into a drug invested wasteland. Absurb
