Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

This is not a good plan and does not get homeless off the street .

I'm a resident of the Wedgwood neighborhood.

I want to know if there is anyone sane running this state? Who do I need to vote for in the elections?!

As a recovering addict who has spent time on the streets in my past and views this situation in a very empathetic light, I still think this is a horrible idea!

Our parks are precious, we have made great progress with bith the care and maintenance of our parks and they are enjoyed and used by families. It would be devastating to our public parks for them to be used in such a way.

There are better solutions for housing the homeless. Convert the old south transfer station into the new Nickelsville.

Without at least the studies, this action will be arbitrary and capricious, lacking in any rational basis and guaranteed to get the City sued, and tied up in appeals for years. Spend the money on solving the problem, not spreading it around.

This is the dumbest idea I have seen the boneheaded City of Seattle attempt. We need safe areas for our families not a cess pool left by the homeless. When will these terrible community leaders ever get the message. Kill this insane idea immediately

I would like to see a safer park.

Do not let this bill pass! Camping in city parks is not the answer!

Homeless camp residents throw trash all around their "homes". If this ordinance passes we will see an increase in human waste and used needles on park trails. These city parks will no longer be safe for children and teenagers to walk and play and families will no longer choose to spend a day at the park. Creating "jungles" all over the city is not the solution

Thank you Mr Burgess for remember the 650,000 plus tax paying citizens of Seattle, since other members of the council seem to have forgotten. Even if settling the homeless in the parks was a good solution for them and it's not, impeding the ability of the tax paying public to enjoy their parks safely is wrong. if each person who signs this petition could find three more to sign and then those three found three more we would be almost to our goal.

An astoundingly lousy idea. Offers no help to vulnerable homeless people and misuses our parks. Start over and do better.

Invest in safer, more sanitary solutions!

Keeping play fields safe for children to use is necessary. It should not become a living space causing harmful and unsafe conditions for more than just the children all the adults involved as well

Agree- this is a safety issue health issue and will not solve the problem. We need open safe spaces for our families and another solution to the hoe less problem - not just moving it from city streets to our beautiful parks!

No way doesn't my family support this. We pay taxes to keep our parks clean and safe. Not to host homeless people to live there in tents. Our council needs to come up with proper housing. Not tents.
