Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

This is a crazy idea!

We already have homeless in our neighborhood who clearly need more assistance than permission to camp. One homeless man has been chasing neighbors- women- and urinating on their porches. I fear for the safety of my children who play in the local park if this passes.

This needs to end the ride of the city council and the mayor.

This "remedy" appears not to assist the homeless and their needs, but a confrontational and dangerous approach by the council to the citizens and taxpayers of Seattle. What are the benefits this outrageous proposal? Waiting to understand.

The Seattle City Councul's proposal to open public spaces up to the homeless is reckless, unsafe, scary, and rediculous. I work in Ballard, a neighborhood where I have to walk over people sleeping on the sidewalk, some having sex on the sidewalk, and witness drug deals and even and much much worse. These people need options for housing-not more options to loiter and harass people doing their daily business.

People who are homeless need a home, not a park. This is not a solution, it's a bandaid. Let's keep working on this one Seattle to find a better long term choice

This would be one of the most ridiculous things this city ever did to "help" the homeless. Right now we have so many because we are inviting them to live here by providing so many services.

Thanks to our Mayor for making Seattle Washington a gigantic garbage dump of bums, feces filth and rats.

These people were offered help while the majority of them were living in the jungle. I want to say maybe 25 out of the roughly 300 accepted help. Now, small homeless encampment are starting to pop up near more residential areas like along Meyer's Way. Let's quit enabling these people by making their life style more and more acceptable. stupid, Stupid idea.

Dear City Council, imagine your children/grandchildren playing in a public park near these encampments with bottles of booze, used needles, and people who are high. Piles of filth and junk too. I don't think this is what President Roosevelt had in mind with national parks and other public places such as city parks. It is not a solution, for the homeless or for homeowners. You can do much better.

This is not a safe or a sustainable solution. Parks are meant to be safe havens for families and children and represent one of the best things about living in Seattle. This will not solve the homeless issue and is unfair to taxpayers.

I know we need a sulution but we need to think about safety for our kids too. Hopefully we can find a balance between the two.

Please at least exclude play fields and play structures for small children. In some open fields, I could perhaps see it, but our kids need a safe place to play.

Disappointed that my child may no longer be safe to play in parks. Parents will stop taking their children because of drug needle fear, and parks will never again see family energy.

I fully support providing safe homes for out homeless but current proposals that include offering homes in our parks and other public places are wrong. They do not provide and permanent housing and creates unnecessary conflicts. If

City parks are for everyone not just the homeless. You vant put the needs of the few over the many.

I bought my first home last year situated near a park thinking ahead to when I have young kids and will want to take them to a clean safe place to play and learn and grow - please do not take this opportunity away from responsible tax paying citizens. It is our right to have clean safe parks maintained and free of homeless.
