Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

Enough enabling and failed programs. I saw what Portland looked like last summer in their parks. It was a mess and scared my relatives from NYC!

Build housing instead. As a temporary solution, please provide specific areas where services such as garbage collection, showers, bathrooms and security are available. Some of the parks will never recover from this camping out bill.

There is a need to take care of those in unfortunate situations; however, rushing to pass a bill without serious consideration of the ramifications or input from affected parties (the public) is unacceptable.

I have no understanding whatsoever how the City Counsel could think that this is a logical solution.

Stop the insanity of camping in OUR public places!!

Allowing the homeless to camp on sidewalks and in our parks is not a solution to the homeless problem. This would result in a lot of council members being replaced at the ballot box.

Urban campers are a scourge on Seattle. Get tents out of parks and greeenbelts now!

Do not allow camping in our public parks. Those parks are not for camping. Camping will destroy these parks and erode all future support for Parks.

I believe strongly in helping homeless individuals. This action is NOT the solution.

STOP enabling this lifestyle! Camping implies an end date! Fix the problem and quit welcoming more! People like me pay LOTS of taxes and VOTE! Can't wait for the next election to VOTE in a real city council that does not enable open air drug markets!

I visited Portland last month. Council, are you people crazy?

Let's expand services, options and recovery programs for the homeless rather than opening up Seattle's parks and sidewalks for homeless camping.

We the People.... The people of Seattle own the land, the council and major work on our behalf.

I agree more needs to be done to assist homeless individuals and families but this is a bad bill without the support of taxpayers.

A proposal as drastic as the City Council's one should be brought to a vote of the people.

NO. DO NOT let our parks become the same trash dumps I see every day along the freeway, Rainier Ave South, stadium area, etc.

Solve the homeless problem another way

I agree with Tum Burgess. Allowing the homeless free reign to iur parks is not helping them or anyone - it is causing more harm than good.

The plan would give encouragement to camping in more public areas/parks which would have the effect of denying Seattle tax payers and property owners full safe and free access to these areas! and at the same time make it hard for sweeping them away. People who camp on public property already know their belongings are not secure or protected. They do not need to be given notice!
