Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

Creates unsafe environment for the tax paying citizens for enjoyment of the city parks and sidewalks.

The proposal is to sanction theft of public property!

Letting people camp in parks and on sidewalks will disrupt the entire city. Look at all the HUMAN fecal material and dirty toilet paper in Woodland Pk now. You want that all over the city? NO! Portland tried allowing camping and wound up w/ more people living outside..

Keep our parks safe and usable for ALL citizens. No camping in public parks!

I applaud your efforts to discuss our cities homelessness problem that is getting worse each year, but allowing camping in parks and public spaces in not the correct temporary solution. Please do not pass this legislation but keep working on a better solution.

Camping should not be allowed in public parks.

Parks are for use by the public and need to be off limits for homeless encampments.

Please study this idea further. It has been tried in Portland and was stopped. It did not work. I agree as a city we need to have a better plan for the homeless but letting them set up camp in publically supported places where many children are present is not the solution.

This legislation will not fix the problem. This legislation does the opposite of what the research suggests. It would be irresponsible of the council to sign such legislation.

This is nuts that you are going to allow homeless to sleep in the parks that kids play in everyday, mixed amongst our neighborhoods! And to male all the parks open for them to sleep amd live wherever they want? How could we even think that is a solution!

This is the worst solution to this problem that has ever been suggested.

We cannot put our youth at more danger. Combining youth and homelessness is not the answer.

I cannot think of a worse solution, that serves neither the homeles or public health throughout our city.

Learn from Portland!

Focus on enforcing laws and putting more money into drug and mental health treatment.

This homeless problem had grown enough. It needs to stop. STOP PROVIDING ANYTHING TO THE HOMELESS AND THEY WILL LEAVE.

Please find a better solution. Dont ruin our parks for kids and families. Dont make our neighborhoods dirty and unsafe.

As a tax paying homeowner on this city I thoroughly object to new laws making it easier for addicts and mentally ill to take over our spaces. Please enforce the trespass and litter laws and stop this madnesd.
