Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

Let's do better than legislation written by outside groups.

I am all for helping those that need it the most. However this isn't the solution.

This isn't the way to do it. Something needs to be done and I'm with Tim Burgess on what/how. Please don't make Seattle unlivable for the majority of its residents and cause a run to the suburbs.

I am definitely against this proposal.

This plan doesn't seem to help anyone.

Your vote to allow homeless to live in the parks PRECLUDES me and ny newborn daughter from enjoying and using the parks safely. I will not be exposed to mentally unstable people using drugs, littering feces and needles, and possibly raping some passers-by in tents. Portland already tried this and saw it be a failure. Please don't stop caring about your tax-paying constituents! This is unsightly, unsafe, and ruinous.

This is a travesty; we are far too great of a city/state to continue tolerating the misguided/lackluster guidance of the current city council.

Our family can no longer use the greenbelt in Queen Anne bordering Hwy 99 due to homeless/drug addicts taking over the park. Is Little Howe, Big Howe, the Queen Anne Bowl next?

Focus on creating longer-term housing. Only allow camping if supervised 24/7 along with toilet facilities and daily trash removal.

Rethink this plan!

No homeless in public parks. No tents all over the city. Come up with real solutions to help the homeless or resign your position immediately.

Winter is coming, tents and tarps are not good homes. These people need services, mental health, drug rehab. Our parks would be destroyed.

In the parks near our home on Capitol Hill, there are often needles in the playground. Please think of the safety hazard this creates for our children.

There has to be a better way so all of seattle can continue safely enjoying our parks and streets.

There has to be another more responsible solution. If homeless are allowed to camp in public parks, the parks will no longer be for the public.

I would like to add a clause to the bill that mandatory camps are set up on the front lawns of each city council member who votes in favor. They might actually like the smell and appearance of trash, poop, and piss every morning. They might like seeing people shoot up outside their front door. They might like the uneasiness of walking home at any time. The might like lack of property security. They might like being yelled by the same people at for years on end. They must like it because that's the only reason for this legislation.

The challenges of homelessness are important and need resolution. Open parks is not a solution. Parks are for everyone. There are concerns about safety and sanitation.

How about TAXPAYER rights?

Parks are meant for rest and relaxation in a safe environment. Not for homeless camping. Find a better way to deal with homelessness
