Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

We've visited there and it's a beautiful area and a beautiful city. We have extended family that live there now and they have made us aware of this. We would probably not come back if this occurs. (At least not into the city). There seems to be some very sound arguments that I've seen on social media about alternatives. I urge you to seriously consider those.

Tents and shelters in public spaces is obviously a bad idea. I am astounded that some of my elected city officials would actually believe that this is a good idea, or a solution.

Please stop this bill as it will ruin Seattle!

VOTE NO on camping in the parks, even with the ridiculous caveats that have no teeth whatsoever. This is a very, very bad idea that will be impossible to enforce and result in inevitable conflict and does nothing to solve the real problem. Toss this in the legislative garbage in the trash can just like Pronto!!!!

We need to put our children, their safety and their right to access safe, clean green spaces.

Allowing camping anywhere is not a solution.

This will not solve the sad problem.

Bring back common sense to City government. Activists should not be writing legislation for the City Council.

Please don't trash our parks....more tiny house encampments are a better (partial) solution.

Don't let homeless take over parks

Parks are for everyone, and should be kept free from human settlement of any kind!

I am a homeowner in Seattle and we take our son to the parks at least once a week. When he was younger, he found and picked up some drug paraphernalia. I do not want this to become a regular occurance! Please do not approve this measure.

Our homeless need housing facilities and services not temporary encampments. Look at Lower Woodlawn Park earlier this year to see the folly of this idea. Daycare kids picking up syringes and stepping in feces. Piles of garbage strewn down hillsides. Confrontations between walkers, by cyclists and trail joggers. This is not the solution!

I absolutely support long-term solutions to this issue involving many other communities, not just Seattle. This misguided idea will do nothing but degrade quality of life in this city.

Please don't make me have to clean up even more needles before I let my daughter play on the playground equipment and in the park near our house.

I do not believe this is the solution to the issue. This will only make the situation volatile in all of our neighborhoods.

Not in our parks. What a way to chase the very people who pay for our parks away.
