Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

Solve the root problems. Do not perpetuate the negative ways we have been trying not to deal with the roots.

Please look at the research and trials of other cities. We don't need to make huge mistakes to fix this public health problem

Thank you Tim Burgess!!! Sidewalk tents that disappeared during the summer months are appearing on Western again. WHY?

Enough already! Camping is illegal in Seattle do not make exceptions for those who already disregard our laws. It's time to pay attention to those citizens who pay their taxes; work and live here.

NO more homeless encampments. This petition will place an incentive to campout. We the taxpayer will have to pay the homeless when the city violates the camping code.

This is so irresponsible. Who will protect the right of the law abiding citizens to live in a safe environment? They pay for all the services. For the city council to entertain such terrible proposal is frightful. Wake up, people, and elect responsible adults in the city council, rather than demagogues, who want to feel good spending other people's money for pet projects.

Ridiculous idea...NO NO NO to homeless camping in parks!

I support providing shelter for ALL homeless persons. I do not support sanctioned camping. Allowing camping in the "undeveloped areas" of city parks= rendering the entire park unsafe for usage. And the amount of policing/protocol required to support this proposal is completely unattainable by our current law enforcement. This is not a responsible or viable solution.

Stop this ordinance. Irresponsible. Raise money for real housing. Portland's ordinance failed miserably. Look to cities like salt lake for models that work.

I don't think that encouraging people to camp in Seattle parks will solve the homeless issue.

I'm all for helping out the homeless, but this has gotten out of hand! Please do something for our parks!

This proposed ordinance does nothing to address homelessness except spread the impacts throughout the city. Look at Portland's experience, this experiment didn't work there and won't work here. Study the environmental impacts of this proposal and put it to a vote.

This idea is very bad and should not be implemented. These public places are for all people to enjoy. They were not intended for this purpose and using in that way will severely impact their use and access by the general public for which they were created.

Terrible idea.

Let's use our minds, money & imaginations to find a better way.
