Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

This is not the solution, solve for housing prices, access to services.

This must be stopped! This is not the answer!

Please re-think this! Let's not implement something that has already failed in Portland.

This feels like the City Council taking the easy way out. We need to identify funds to provide long term housing and support for the homeless, not pat ourselves on the back for devising the cheapest "way out."

Our city is being ruined by homeless filth, forcing residents to either move, or live with break-ins, filth and violence. There is a reason that other cities are sending there homeless here--because we do nothing but "gift" them and allow them to spread squalor everywhere. I witness drug addicts shooting up on the street in front of me while going to and from work, and its ridiculous. These are not people truly looking for jobs and trying to get on their feet--they are drug addicts, period. Their activities are illegal and harmful to everyone. So our Mayor creates a gift registry...are you serious?? Giving them 30-days notice as if they are home owners--are you insane?? The encampments have BBQs and fences, bon fires and piles of garbage...and are growing each day. Obviously the tree-hugging approach of our mayor is NOT working--the proof is everywhere! Let the homeless ruin his neighborhood and have him worry about being robbed when he goes to work and see how he likes it. I live on a viewpoint and have very expensive taxes so I can live in an area being ruined by filthy squatters shooting heroin in broad daylight. It's time for tough love, so grow a spine and do what is need to protect our tax paying, law abiding citizens before people start suing the city. Due to our clueless, ineffective, spineless mayor, our once beautiful city is now renowned for it's out of control, incredibly embarrassing homeless issue that our city refuses to handle. Man up and get it the hell together!!

This is ridiculous and does help solve the real problems!

I believe we need to provide services for homeless people, but for the safety of our children and neighborhoods, we can not allow people to live in our parks and open spaces. Our children play in the neighborhood, and they do not feel safe when people are sleeping in the park and leaving garbage around. We need to address this problem with solutions, not encouraging more homeless.

Please do not burry Seattle the evergreen city. Protect our green spaces and waters. Thank you

Our homeless neighbors need homes not parks! Proposal to open parks to homeless camps is not a good idea.

I work with homeless populations and do not believe Council Bill 118794 is the right answer!!

You have absolutely no right to take over our parks for your own agenda. The parks belong to everyone and must be kept save.

Bad idea. We pay for our parks and have a right and expectation to be able to use them together with our children.

This didn't work in Portland why do you think it will work here?

Passing this bill will increase crime and dramatically decrease public safety. This is not an effective way to solve the homelessness problem.
