Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

I don't want junkies all over the parks, they're already there, but it will be different if they are allowed to be there.

City Hall: You are being WALKED ON and have ZERO common sense. You are encouraging the homeless to reside here, stop with the ACLU, et al who fund your campaigns. .

Homeless camps don't belong in our parks where children and families play. Taxes for the parks should be used only for park activity!

My sister lives near a greenway in east Portland. She said the area has become totally unsafe with needles and human waste everywhere. We can't let that happen here. Thank you.

Turning public parks and sidewalks into homeless camps is NOT a reasonable long term solution. Additional solutions need to be explored.

Enuf of this nonsense. What is happening to the Seattle so many of us hold dearly. This is a classic case of "build and they will come". We law abiding, hard working residents do not deserve have tents spread wall to wall on our parks and city properties

This can not happen. Don't want to read stories about kids getting poked by needles and don't want our parks to turn into dumps.

It is time to elect new City Council who will be able to deal with issues in responsible way. Can not imagine that responsible person would consider this proposal as a solution to a homelessness problem.

Please don't take our parks away from children. Keep them safe and clean.

The intention of the bill was good but it should have good guidelines and strong enforcement of law and proceeding on how to handle homelessness encampment.

This is the most idiotic thing I have ever heard. Go tell Kshama Sawant and our insane Mayor and Governor to go take their families to our parks and pay the price. What Morons!!!

The parks are meant to be clean and free for all to enjoy, not a place for people to sleep, change out of their pajamas or stash their belongings.

You should know by now that the legitimate homeless who are in a bad way have already accepted help from outreach resources , the ones who remain want to be this way without help so they can drink , drug and steal their way through life . your ridiculous policies have made this a reality , have made seattle a " sanctuary " city . Time for big change and if the current council can't deal with this then we'll get your stupid asses out of the council and find different leadership . You're making us a laughingstock .

Our neighborhood in NE Seattle has already experienced a spike in homeless related car theft, home burglaries. The invitation of homeless people to Seattle has gone too far, and needs to be curbed until accommodations/controls are in place.

I am sickened when I drive by the heaping piles of garbage surrounding the many camping sites that have proliferated, unabated, under the Spokane St. viaduct. Move this mess to our parks? NO! There has got to be a better solution, and we need to find it. I don't condone the current illegal camping near and under roadways, much less in parks. Consider me a very disgruntled (liberal) West Seattle resident and voter, wondering what the council members can possibly be thinking..

This idea was a disaster in Portland and will be a disaster here if they proceed.
