Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

Homeless people need supportive housing! This is a terrible solution to an awful problem, only benefitting law enforcement.

Please DO NOT allow people to camp out anywhere in parks and fields where children play. I pay taxes towards the care of these parks where my family and children play. People camping out, and do not pay taxes to care for these areas, should NOT be allowed to live there! Thank you.

If we make it clear they're not allowed to camp, then we shouldn't feel guilty about sweeps. They make a choice to camp rather than using shelters, let them suffer the consequences.

What disturbs me most is that the council would even consider voting on this. This is not about finding a solution for homeless people's housing. It effectively punts any real solution down the road We all have a right including the unfortunate homeless in our community to experience safety and beauty in our parks This feels like an ill founded and cynical means to push the problem into all of our faces while not providing any true solution to this very serious problem. dear city Council please do your job with the needs of all of us in mind and give due consideration to the beauty and spirit of our place

City parks are NOT suitable for homeless camping. It doesn't help those that are homeless get out of their situation and makes public parks a potential unsafe space for young children.

think this through. Don't let our parks be trashed by homeless people that don't care.. build tiny shed homes in portions of some parks

We believe help is needed for the homeless. Please study further before unleashing all these folks throughout parks and green belts which we currently thoroughly enjoy.

I'm against using our public parks for the homeless. I'm for helping the homeless, but this is not the right way.

The City Council does not have the right to give away public land for the benefit of a few. The City Council intends to spend $62 million on the homeless this year. Where is that money going and why is there absolutely no accountability for results?

As Seattle gets more crowded, preserving and maintaining our parks becomes even more important. Allowing people to camp in our parks will destroy them: trash everywhere, drug use, destruction of the vegetation, not to mention the danger of assaults and other violent crimes. I live near to Woodland Park and walk through it regularly. There are many parts of the park that are no easily accessible to the police. Replicating "The Jungle" in Woodland Park will ruin the beauty of the park and make it unsafe.

This homeless encampment in our parks, is ridiculous. The council is prioritizing the homeless over all the other tax paying citizen. I am a Seattle native since 1964 and find the homeless growth unacceptable. Clean up all cites immediately.
