Please have respect for our parks that are paid for by tax payer money. We who pay our taxes gladly will no longer be able to use our parks if they are taken over by homeless people camping in them. Learn from Portland's mistake, listen to the majority of Seattle residents and do not allow camping in Seattle parks.

I am disgusted that the council is even considering this. These people leave needles all over, they harass families, openly do drugs and have sex in the parks now. This would only make things worse. My family no longer goes to the parks that WE pay for because of this disgusting display. These are people who need help and need to be off the streets not allowed to stay on the streets longer. Anyone who does not accept help should be jailed for any and all crimes they are committing. Homelessness is unacceptable and so is crime. You are enabling dangerous, harmful behavior by allowing these people to stay in our parks. Vote no. Give them a choice, treatment and services or jail or eviction from our city. Being out on the streets addicted to drugs is no way to live.

This is madness! You are helping no one with this proposal. You are just enabeling people instead of actually helping them.

This "solution" has already been tested and failed in Portland. I realize we have a serious homeless situation, but I don't see how this helps the problem as a long term solution.

Don't allow the homeless to camp wherever they want. Keep parks and public spaces for all of Seattle.

Please control the homeless camps so they are in specific and designated areas where they have access to waste facilities and services can be offered to them to help them gain access to housing.

The explanation following this petition is not exactly as I understand the Bill. But the larger issue is THE VOTE ON THE BILL MUST BE DELAYED: (1) for an environmental impact study on our parks, protected areas, soils, and (2) to allow community input of alternative proposals-- such as 24/7 shelters that work .

We aren't helping the issue by allowing free encampments when a majority refuse services that can get people off the streets. We enable when we pay $250 .... This bill is insanity in action!

This does not take seriously the safety and welfare of the resident, mind you also known as taxpayers, of this city!! From personal experience I'm absolutely against opening up public land for 'campers'!!

Passing this legislation would be the biggest mistake Seattle has ever made.

This has been tried in other cities and has failed miserably. It needs to be further evaluated before enacted--

I've lived in Seattle, paid taxes, and voted in every election for 30 years. This is an insane idea. I am voting against any person who supports this craziness.

This city council (with the exception of Tim Burgess) does not represent my values or opinion. I implore them to not allow this short sighted ordinance to take effect.
