I live in Bellevue, but my significant other lives and works in Seattle. We spend time enjoying the parks for which he pays and this would render them unvisitable. Homeless people should be in homes, not in parks. Please look for other solutions that won't negatively impact families who use the parks, and will actually help the homeless folks find permanent housing.

our parks are for us to enjoy, not to have us be afraid of the people living in tents in there. Our city is a joke with all the homeless, they are coming here from all over, since we take such good care of them, send them to oklahoma already

I have paid use fees to use the parks in my neighborhood for children's birthdays, my children's school is a careful caretaker of the park they use, we have voted to fund the parks. We cannot just turn them over to the homeless, without bathrooms or services, they are community resources and not just holding tanks to start our own shantytowns. It is shameful and I will not support any politician and will donate to every opponent of every council member who votes for this measure. Save our Parks.

This ordinance is political correctness rhetoric. It addresses none of the issues homeless people are forced to deal with nor what tax paying citizens are already forced to deal with. It's a disgrace.

Please defer this vote and look into the impact environmentally and on the neighborhoods. Homelessness is a serious issue and instead of just opening up our parks where children play look into getting services for them so the problem can get better.

Our green spaces cannot handle the impact of homeless camping and this ordinance doesn't help get homeless people off the streets. It also disregards the intended use for our protected green spaces to be safe and clean places for the entire community.

I live in Kirkland but pay to use Seattle parks. Woodland Park is not a homeless shelter. I will spend money to support anyone who runs on a platform to end this misguided and dangerous proposal.

This bill has so many flaws in it and doesn't adequately address the issue of where camping can take place and it doesn't protect the rights of property owners and those who legally use parks in Seattle. More time is needed to address the issue of health and safety.

Portland trialed this strategy and recently abandoned it because it failed. We need to concentrate on preventing homelessness, not promoting it everywhere.

This is an extremely ill-thought out plan. It penalizes all tax payers and degrades our public spaces. It's an easy, albeit temporary, solution for the Seattle City Council. You ALL should have more sense than this. The fact that this proposal is supported by the ACLU seems to have turned your heads away from the fact that it is a stop gap measure. Our homeless population is a complex problem. Making them less visible to the public is not the way to resolve the issue.

Protect our public spaces! We don't pay taxes for them to be over run by drug addicts. More police, more services and more enforcement of the laws that already exist. Stop arresting young black men for having drugs on them then ignoring these homeless people with needles in their arms. Hypocrisy!

This is not a solution to a large scale issue and only detracts from implementing long-term solutions.

I am vehemently opposed to 118749. You are putting the public at risk and are changing the fabric and safety of our communities, while at the same time doing absolutely nothing to provide for the needs of our homeless population.

I take my family to these parks. Please keep them safe and clean. And I will continue to pay my taxes and support our local economy.

This defies common sense on all levels. With clear overwhelming opposition the city council continues to forge ahead.

This will not only not solve anything; It will destroy & make our parks unsafe for all of us!
