Utterly absurd that this is even a consideration for our epidemic.

Don't allow homeless to ruin the parks and every other open area.

I am not a city resident but have college students in Seattle and am a frequent visitor (i.e., I spend money in Seattle A LOT). This is NOT a solution to homelessness. It is, however, a great way to keep people from coming to Seattle. What a travesty against your residents and City of Seattle voters, to use their money to build the parks but make them unusable for the purpose for which they were built and approved. That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen, when funding occurs for one use and then the end product is used for a different use. Find real solutions for homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction and mental health issues, instead of just moving people around in such a haphazard and meaningless way.

As a home owner and tax payer I am seriously shocked at what Seattle has become, especially here in Magnolia and neighboring Queen Anne and Ballard! It is just madness!

There are more productive long-term mechanisms to resolve the homeless issue - - use city funds to investigate and implement those ideas. This is a band-aid that perpetuates the negative situation at the expense of the majority taxpayer base that keeps this beautiful city running.

This is not a solution which will help the homeless get the help they need to change their situation. It will turn Seattle into a destination for homeless and transient people from all over and degrade the parks n public spaces that all citizens use hitch makes Seattle so beautiful. Look at the issues this caused for Portland. Their must be better solutions for this complicated problem.

This ordinance does nothing to address or alleviate homelessness.

Seattle has been my dream city since i moved here to go to UW in 1975. I hate what's happening to it. Its so degrading and frankly embarrassing when i show my guests my beautiful city. Change the laws. Allow people to get affordable apartments before they can pay. Take a page from Utah's homelessness resolve. For god sake, this can't continue.

There is no way that Seattle's beautiful parks should be allowed to be turned into legal camping spots for the homeless! This only enables them. Proper treatment and shelter in a coordinated system should be what we are looking at

I urge the Councilmembers to follow Tim Burgess's lead. Reject Council Bill 118794.

Think before you act. This proposal is a nightmare waiting to happen. I am liberal and believe in supporting the homeless, but this is the he wrong answer

We cannot allow unknown campers in our parks that are strategically placed near schools and families whereby people who may be a threat to our children can camp without any way for residents to know or respond to concerns regarding sex offenders, active drug abuse, theft, and other I am teaching my children about compassion for others, about homelessness, and about how almost any one of us could be the one in need. This is not a NIMBY situation. It truly is how to provide safety in increasingly threatening and violent cities. Thank you and please know I acknowledge how difficult your positions are.

This proposal flouts any reasonable considerations of public health and safety, completely disregards the will and experience-based concerns of taxpayers and businesses, and has the potential to turn beautiful Seattle into a cesspool of belligerent, entitled squatters amid a burgeoning mound of human waste.

This bill should be presented to voters for approval.

Enough! The plan to allow homeless people to take over our parks must be stopped. I live next to Schmitz Park and love this area of refuge. It looks like Schmitz (and many other parks) will now longer be areas where we can enjoy nature, as they will be unsafe and full of garbage. Why in earth is the Seattle council spending all this money and time to clean out the Jungle? This area is ugly and ruined anyway, now they have to move the people out and move them to our parks! Guess what, they will need to be cleaning up our parks shortly enough. This measure must be defeated. It's also insulting to use our tax money to pay homeless people if basic services are not provided. I wonder why i bother to work when i can go live in a park and get handouts...
