This is not a solution - this is just making a bad problem worse and overtaxing an already under staffed police force

There must be a better way to care for the homeless and keep the parks a place for children and recreation not domestication. Let's rethink this plan.

This is not the right solution to empower a road out of homelessness and to keep these public properties safe and used for their intended public purposes.

I beg the City Council to defer this vote. I am extremely concerned about the long term well being of our city if all of our city parks become homeless encampments. The parks will no longer be a safe place for children to play. I agree that the problem of homelessness is absolutely awful. So why not build a more permanent, safer, cleaner, more controlled environment using permanent materials, with off the damp ground, with heat and sanitary facilities. Even "projects" would be better. ANYTHING but this. Winter is coming. This is among other things inhumane. If we need more organized Tent Cities, or small houses like they have in Ballard, then let's make that happen. But please, do not do this to our city. Please read Danny Westneat's column.

This is outrageous. We taxpayers pay for public parks, and this action would make them unsafe, unsanitary and unusable, while doing nothing to aid the homeless, who need housing.

Not a good solution at all. I want to use the parks and I pay taxes.

No no no,! This is a terrible idea. Please do not turn this city over to the homeless. I have two small kids and we already have to avoid parks where homeless people loiter in Ballard because of the drug paraphernalia, urination, swearing and drinking. No no no!

No homeless camps in parks and public spaces please--city needs to find alternate solutions that don't negatively impact the safety and property values of contributing citizens and their children.

It is so sad that the city trying to put children in danger by letting homeless, often drug addicted people live in parks. My children will not be allowed to play in areas where these people are living. Help them but don't hurt children by doing it.

Check out what happened in Portland, Oregon when the same type of program was introduced.

Please stop legislation to legalize homeless camping everywhere and come up with a more realistic solution.

While I empathize with the homeless problem, we need to keep public parks clean and safe for the rest of the population to use.
