Guys, this is not the right solution. Lots of Federal research has already shown this is a poor idea. We have a young child, and have previously been harassed and threatened by mentally ill homeless people--it was quite scary. We need to work together to find a better solution, but this is not it. We are so serious about this, that we will likely leave Seattle if this is enacted.

I do not support passage of the proposed legislation that legalizes overnight camping in portions of Seattle's parks, natural areas and open spaces.

You can't smoke in a park but you can live there? Hm...

Not the answer. Lean from Portland. The cost to implement this will waste funds and shift attention away from solving the issue.

Please do not encourage more homeless camping in city parks. Doing so supports and perpetuates the disparities that homeless persons experience already.

This is a horrible idea. Happy to help with the homelessness problem, but this is not the answer.

This is not the way to help the homeless! Provide real services and keep our parks save for children and others. We pay taxes and want them to go for real services ...not cop out plans.

I did not pay an outrageous home price and outrageous property taxes to have my parks turned over to the homeless. They need real shelters, not tents.

This is crazy. It was a disaster in Portland. Put in some actual work and develop a credible plan to alleviate the situation. Ridiculous.

This is not a safe or sustainable option for anyone! This is not providing services that homeless people deserve. This is not preserving the open space that neighborhoods deserve.

This ill-advised proposal needs to be stopped immediately. As this petition asks, just take six months and vet it properly.

This is not a solution to the problem. This takes parks away from everyone and hands it to a few. Our public spaces were never intended to be campsites, trash heaps, and latrines.

homelessness is indeed a problem that needs a solution. this proposal is NOT a solution to homelessness. Tax paying citizens MUST have a vote on a proposal this impactful. Anything less is dictatorial.

You cannot let homeless take over our parks. Not to mention the danger they present, but the drugs and garbage they produce is horrible. Just look at the new tent city on Denny by the Space Needle and under every bridge. Move the tents to the mayors neighborhood and see how he likes it!

This proposal will only serve to trash our parks and turn them into slums that I will no longer be able to take my daughter to.
