This is a useless exercise in futility, and doesn't address these people's needs. We need some actual housing for them.

You will ruin our parks for us and our children and make them unsafe to use. please don't ruin our beautiful city.

I have kids 10 & 12 and live in a neighborhood heavily populated by families with children. Baker Park is near my house. The park had an adjacent property purchased and cleared by the Parks Dept. in an attempt to reduce drug use/ trafficking & loitering. It is a park that is rarely used due to safety concerns already occurring. Whittier Elementary is a few blocks away with 5 kindergarten classes this year. It is a health and safety concern to children in considering opening our parks to homeless encampments. Rather than kicking the can down the street to our neighborhoods- the city council should be working on true & tested responses to assist people out of homelessness. The Seattle City Council is making bad and ineffective decisions as relates social services. We are working parents who are challenged enough raising our kids, without needing to spend unnecessary hours fighting the bad decision at city council. Do your jobs... better. If you hadn't wasted money on a rental bike system- you could have housed a few homeless families for many years. That is crazy! We don't need refugee encampments in our parks. we elect you to solve problems- not create more problems for your constituents. Maybe its time for better leadership at City Council.

Do not allow this bill to be passed! It will be devastating to the safety and security of the residents who live near these green spaces. Additionally it does nothing to assist the homeless people to obtain the help they needs.

This is horrible idea with significant consequences to the upstanding residents of Seattle.

This is ridiculous. The city council needs to stop being an enabler for lawlessness and drug using,

I have lived in Seattle for 49 years. If this passes, I will SERIOUSLY consider moving my family away. This proposal helps no one!

Portland did this a few months ago, and has come to severely regret that decision.

As a Queen Anne resident, I've seen the map of proposed parks that would be considered for homeless camps. I'm astounded that this is even being considered (particularly given Portland's experience). If you vote this in I think you'll have a popular revolution on your hands.

Provide appropriate shelter, not parks!

This is an ill-conceived and harmful measure. Let the voters decide.

I am extremely opposed to this failed idea and feel that another solution is possible. I think tax payer input is critical in determining what our representatives do.

We need a better solution. Not one that jeopardizes our children and was shown not to work in Portland.

This is such an ill advised idea. Instead of investing in tangible solutions for our homeless citizens you are opening the parks for them to languor in, which then closes the parks to families and seniors. All while funding a useless, failed bike program (Pronto) with money that could be used to find permanent housing for folks in need. This is ludicrous!

We authorized a huge amount to maintain our parks, now we want to potentially destroy them? Choice & rare plants used as firewood?

This is beyond scary and irresponsible.

This shouldn't be allowed ! For safety of all people using the park, homeless people should be transported to other places !

Portland just tried this. Epic FAIL. Horrible idea. You, as our "city leaders", are supposed to be listening to your tax paying citizens and we do NOT WANT THIS.
