Misguided attempt to solve a problem - only new problems will develop. Tax payers will have trouble using parks and homeless will be no closer to having a decent place to live.

I have two small daughters, I will no longer feel safe playing in the parks around the city with them. Please Vote NO.

I have compassion for the homeless but this is NOT the answer. See Portland's failed attempt and lessons learned

This failed in Portland, so why are we doing it?

Seattle has turned into a dump! This bill is not going to solve anything. It will only make it worse and enable even more.

This bill does nothing to help the homeless in the dire situation in which they find themselves. Look to models such as Plymouth Housing to find a better way forward for the less fortunate.

I agree wholehearedly with Tim Burgess. This proposal is an incredible mistake, and won't solve even one element of homelessness. NO on 118794!

Please find one example of social engineering that's worked before adding to all the previous failed solutions regarding the homeless.

This just makes me very, very angry. And I'm a mild-mannered Grandma. I take my kids to city parks all the time. This is not a solution that really works for anyone and destroys our public places.

City parks should not become living spaces for the homeless. Other approaches are needed to address homelessness. Turning city parks into campgrounds will totally change the nature of the parks. At a minimum, the decision should be deferred for review of alternatives. My position is that city parks should never be used as campgrounds because camping is antithetical to what city parks are for, namely the peaceful enjoyment of patches of nature within the city. Portland, Oregon's experiment with allowing camping within city parks was an utter failure. (See Danny Westneat's Seattle Times column dated October 9, 2016.

Please do not allow homeless camping I Seattle open spaces. Please find sassy to put more trash containers in public spaces so the trash will be used instead of out cities green spaces.

This proposal is rushed and does not address the underlying issues causing the problem this attempts to address. Complete, diligent, and unbiased research should be completed before passage into law, just like any other law this city, state, and country intends to pass.

Please consider the best options for all Seattlites, the families and youth as well as those in need. Opening Seattle to more camping is not the solution as our streets become less safe with each increasing year.

This is NOT a solution. It has failed miserably where implemented, most notably in Portland. Seattle voters are against this by at least 10:1 and only Tim Burgess seems to understand that this is not a sustainable solution. The rest of the council should be ashamed of themselves for getting behind this ridiculous cop out of a "plan"
