Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

If the city has to provide adequate, long term housing after giving the homeless 30 days notice to move out of public spaces, skip the first step of having them camp in our public spaces, and go directly to the housing alternative. Public spaces are not for the few and this will not help the city, its residents or the homeless. Seattle has enough money to purchase buildings, put services on the main level and give small apartments to the homeless. Then they can avail themselves of the services provided. I don't know why anyone on the council thinks this is a reasonable solution. It is not!

I'm happy to help pay into services to help Seattle's homeless population, but my child needs a place where he can safely play in the city. Please don't take that away from him.

Please Seattle City Council , represent all of Seattle residents, not just the interest groups that bark the loudest

This proposed legislation is insanity. In the past month the situation in our local parks has already started feeling dangerous for me and my children. Can't imagine what will happen when camping is legalized there.

For the safety of ourselves and our children do NOT allow public camping. Please learn from Portland, OR. It does not work.

Shame on you, Seattle City Council. This is absurd. What does this possibly solve? It is utter laziness on your part. Please respect the taxpaying people of this city and work with everyone to come up with a real solution to the homeless problem that is plaguing our beautiful city.

There need to be other provisions for the homeless, not our beautiful parks that we play in with our children, walk our dogs, have picnics, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We pay to enjoy our Parks!

Let's find real solutions for this problem. This seems like a stop-gap measure that is not healthy or safe for many people at all.

The city has thought thought this through! The jungle was lawless and you are okay placing no rules and restrictions on people camping on sidewalks!!! What do we pay you for! Other cities, Portland tried this without success!! Learn from other and quit letting our city look like a dump!!

Please keep our parks safe and clean for every one but our children should be the most important to make the parks safe for them

This is absurd. The City Council seems to forget about the rights of the tax paying public that voted them in to office.

Please don't allow our parks to become homeless encampments! It is wrong, wrong, wrong, for so many reasons.

Seattle needs to be a safe place for families in the parks. These are not designed as living spaces.

There is certainly a need to help the homeless population in Seattle find safe and suitable housing, but I am struggling to see how CB 118794 is a solution.
