Please consider the children who use these parks for various sports, the families that enjoy the BBQ spaces, and above all consider the mess of feces, urine and garbage that will be left behind ruining these beautiful open spaces.

I can not believe that Seattle would even consider this as an option. I think it is a cop out for not finding any other options for the homeless! You are reducing the value of the homes that live by these parks, and neighborhoods.

Please don't allow homeless camps to move into our parks where my kids and I go every day.
No response necessary - but please consider my input.

This is NOT the answer to the homeless population in and around Seattle. We need a real, long-term solution. This would only be, yet another, band-aid to the growing homeless population.

Are you city council people out of your minds? What the hell are you thinking?

One of the worst ideas ever. And after recently asking the voters for money for Seattle's parks? DELAY OR, BETTER YET, KILL THIS IDEA NOW.

Are you all insane?! Tim Burgess is the only one making any sense at all. Destroying neighborhoods and Seattle's parks and natural areas is not the answer to homelessness.

Environmental impact AND background /sexual predator check for all campers must be a prequisit

Not only will this crazy proposal destroy our parks, it will devastate our tourism economy. Tourists are already scared to walk around at night in Seattle and permitting open camping at any public location will freak them out further. What has happened to the city I used to love??

Please do not pass this parks sidewalks initiative for homeless, this is not a solution and it will make the situation even more complicated.

Seriously? How is this a solution and how do the homeless individuals, let alone tax payers benefit in any way from this absurd proposed legislation. It's not a win for anyone and wave goodbye to tourism and convention dollars. I am floored this is even under consideration.

I don't pretend to have an answer to this very serious problem. We need a compassionate, humane and sustainable answer for all of Seattle's residents, including the homeless. This is not it.

This issue and the proposed Council Bill shines a massive spotlight on the incompetency of city council members who support it. If you don't know your district's council-member's name now; learn it and remember come re-election (or impeachment) time...!

I am a four-year resident of the City of Seattle and a ten-year resident of King County. I oppose any measure that puts the safety of my fellow residents at risk, and potentially degrades the environment in our parks and neighborhoods. While it is important for us to address the solution of homelessness in Seattle, we can't address the issue by letting them camp in our parks and sidewalk spaces. We can do better, both for our residents and our homeless. I urge our city council to defer voting on Bill 118794 until steps 1-3 in the petition have been addressed.
