Stop Seattle From Turning Our Parks Into Homeless Encampments

This is ridiculous. This is not an appropriate solution to the homeless problem in Seattle and not why we donate to parks. The city needs to use the funds that they already collect from us to handle this problem more effectively.

Utter madness. Please for the love of all things good and evil, stop allowing homelessness to take over our city, and with Council Bill 118794 do not allow it to take over our parks.

Public Parks should be for everyone. Allowing indiscriminate camping without any rules, requirements, or responsibilities, gives our parks to a few, and takes them away from everyone else. While I am empathetic to the plight of the homeless, this is not a solution, it is the worst kind of ennoblement. Seattle voters will not let this go unanswered.

Honestly, I don't know what these people are thinking. What about Public Safety for our taxpayer dollars!!

Do not sanction camping in any city parks or greenbelts!

We should be able to walk through the park with our kids and feel safe. As a mom - I don't know how safe I would feel if my daughter and I stumbled upon a bunch of people camping in the park. Also I will not vote for any candidate who thinks having our sidewalks lined with tents is okay.

This proposal is just a knee jerk reaction to an issue. Please take more time to come up with a viable solution for all. Homelessness has exploded here recently and I would really like to know if other States are sending folks to Seattle because "Seattle will take care of them". If this is the case, then the Federal Government should be invloved with a solution...this is hard on everybody but we cannot continue to raise taxes and allow people to camp wherever they choose....that is NOT a solution

Wake up. What are you people thinking. ?? Let them camp on your sidewalks. People already do not want to go downtown. Do you want your children grandchildren walking among tent with who knows what in them going to the bathroom all over.

The media I see on this covers the park issue, but the sidewalk camping is just as troublesome. It's a good idea to convey this is more than simple camping. A 30 day notice period for eviction tolling gives squatters tenant rights.

This is absurd. Spend money on shelter and mental health services. Address the opioid epidemic brought on by pharma run amok. Enforce the laws already on the books.

This is a similar experiment to the one that failed in Portland.

This city council is not representing the people in our distict and must be voted out!

We must not destroy our recreational nature parks with tent housing. If we need a place for people to set up their tents use the two sports stadiums. Not much going on there after 10 pm. Could be well regulated.

Council Bill 118794 is not a good solution.

We homeowners and taxpayers support these parks, etc. Is it right to deny the use of them to us in order to establish a public eyesore and nuisance?

I take care of homeless individuals in the hospital. Living outside leads to increased hospitalizations and severely damages their health. This prop is good for no one. Please encourage homeless individuals to utilize social services, NOT camp in parks.
