There has to be a better way. It sounds like the mayor and council are trying to take the easy way out. I am against the passage of Council Bill 118794

This legislation is completely insane. I can't even believe it's made it this far.

This proposed legislation is ridiculous and absurd, and I will actively campaign against politician that votes in favor of it until he or she is out of office.

We need to help our homeless. But this is not the answer. They need safe housing. We need safe parks. Having tents in parks with no support services and no safe, secure, infrastructure is of no help to the homeless and will have devastating effects on all community members. Portland tried this and it failed fast. Look at Salt Lake City for an answer to homelessness.

How can the city take away land the we pay for and give it to one particular section of our society. A section that is divided between some good people with really bad luck, but more importantly the mentally ill and straight up drug addicts that make it unsafe for everyone else.. Such a bad idea!!

The situation has been devolving for a while, but gotten significantly worse in the last year. Let's reverse this trend.

I teach at an elementary school that uses a city park. I do not feel that the children will be safe with unknown homeless people living in the park.

I agree wholeheartedly with the article written about this and encourage the Council to vote NO on expanding parks and sidewalks for camping in Seattle.

Please sign! Allowing homeless camping is a failure of govt. We can do better. It is also a matter of land use zoning, public health and public safety. We pay alot of taxes here. Not fair for residents and maybe especially not for businesses.

Homeless people belong in homes, rehab facilities, mental health facilities or other places where they can get the help they need. Not only does the proposed ordinance NOT help them, this law will lead to the devastation of our parks that we all have a right to use safely. It will also adversely impact protected wetlands, soils and environments. Finally, it will most likely attract more homeless persons from other locations to the City of Seattle, where they will expect to be provided free camping or other suitable housing.

There can be no meaningful discussion regarded homelessness until it is acknowledged that many of these campers are addicts who support themselves by theft.

I am a tax payer and you are planning on taking away a safe area to walk, walk pets, and enjoy with our families. They bring in drugs, disposed needles, prostitution, and constant begging for money. Yes this selfish of me, but I am tired of the poor services from the city to those of us that are property owners. Constant break-in to homes, cars, and destruction of properties will only increase with these vent cities taking over our neighborhood park!

If it didn't work in Portland, it won't work here. I want to be able to enjoy city parks safely - and I think the homeless need more services than just a place to camp.

I see the park as a good place to spend time, especially for children, but I don't think it would feel as safe if was a homeless camp
