Homeless should be provided housing and not camping on public property. We need our parks and open spaces to be for all, and not contaminated so no one can use them.

This law puts a temporary, poorly thought out band aid on a problem that requires much more substantial solutions. Embarrassingly short-sighted and stupid. Seems like the council is too cowardly, probably to avoid political fallout, to aggressively address the homeless issue.

Any council member who votes for this proposal is voting against their constituency while doing nothing to actually improve the lives of the homeless. Truly shameful legislation that benefits no one.

Absolute insanity. Please wake us up from this nightmare. We are smart people. I say get the smarties at Amazon, Google and Microsoft on the case. I bet they'd have some worthwhile solutions in a hurry.

We need to step back and find a long term solution that does not take away from tax paying non-homeless citizens.

Please do not invite the chaos of “urban camping” into our parks and neighborhoods. Urban camping is a health hazard for all.

This is absurd. City Council is making outrageous decisions to appease the few while costing the many their safety, privacy, and access to public parks.

Do not approve this, Seattle City Council, or we will all be camping in your yards.

I support the homeless and donate to homeless organizations regularly, but I don't think homeless encampments in city parks is a healthy solution for anyone. Please find better places soon.

It's time that the city Council got some common sense. We want our tax dollars going to a solution, not enabling the problem.
The solution is mental health and addiction recovery (PERIOD). Encampments all over the city only threaten the safety and security of the citizens and cost the hard working tax payer $$

These people need help but not this way! The council is just doing this so they can say they did something. Lipstick on a pig. The issue will grow worse but never better. Why can't we learn from Portland? Come on council, roll your sleeves up and come up with a better plan.

While I support finding a solution to the homeless situation in Seattle, turning our city parks into homeless encampments is not the answer.

This is poorly conceived legislation done by a group of council members who are willing to abdicate their responsibility rather than work at coming up with a GOOD solution and not a stop-gap measure to make it look like something is being done by the Seattle City Council.

This is ridiculous. Fund education and infrastructure repair. The City Council is derelict in its basic duties as is the Mayor. Shame!
