Parks are meant to be clean, safe places for family recreation. Seattle City council is grasping at another band aid-- a band aid that penalizes the homeless and non-homeless alike.

I urge everyone to sign this petition. Please protect our parks. Allowing this to pass is a temporary solution and it will NOT help people find homes. The homeless population will increase and crime will be on the rise.

No way should this legislation pass. Mayor Murray needs to go as does all of Seattle City Council members that this is a good idea for our city. Tim Burgess is the only one with any sense! Lets get rid of Mayor Murray NOW!!!!!!!!
The government needs to find real solutions for homelessness that really works for all.

Places for families with children, should not have to be confronted with hypodermic needles, feces and other trash in the areas they go for recreation.

Our parks have "No Camping" signs posted for a reason. This legislation is a disaster in the making.

This bill is reckless and puts the safety of our children at risk. It also places the funding of our public parks by the citizens of Seattle at risk.

Allowing homeless camps in the public parks is harmful to everyone, especially the homeless. They deserve more action from the city! And all Seattle citizens deserve safe parks.

We absolutely need to address homelessness in our city but this is not the answer. Our homeless population needs homes, not temporary camps. And our children need clean places to play. This is a conflict of all interests!

I wholeheartedly support services and support for our homeless, however I do not believe that allowing our homeless citizens to camp in parks and in public spaces does anything to improve their access to services or opportunities to move towards employment or housing. This bill will severely detract from the safety of our parks and playgrounds for children, as has been seen in other places where this type of effort has been tried. Please keep our parks safe & beautiful, and spend time and money instead, on providing the very real support our city's homes require and deserve.

This legislation would be a disaster for the city of Seattle, the image it tries to project, for the health of its children and citizens. This legislation will not help the homeless but create a huge huge problem for each and everyone of us. It is extremely shortsighted to think that providing housing in our parks, on our sidewalks, in our neighborhoods is going to solve the homeless problem. It will invite masses of people from other cities to come Increasing an already dangerous problem.

This is a dumb idea. We need to get them into housing. They are already in tents. We don't have to turn our parks over to them.

Please stop this INSANE idea of using our parks for the homeless. This is NOT the solution to send everyone to our parks and make them unsafe for our families & neighborhoods.
