How can our city council promote this? They need to listen to the citizens they were elected to represent!

I am 100% opposed to your continued policies that attract homeless from all over the US who to come to Seattle to milk us tax payers. Solve the problem intelligently...most of these people are purposeful free loaders!

Is this some kind of a joke? Keep what comes along side of homelessness away from our kids! Drug use, drug trafficking, freakin murder! The government can afford to take the abandoned housing and give homeless a place to live. Better yet, take better care of our damn veterans!!!

This is not the way to resolve the issue of Homeless in Seattle...We need a solution that involves permanent housing for people who can t afford paying rent. We elected you for a good reason and to solve issues like this..

Do NOT allow camping in Seattle parks. This is contrary to the intended use described to public granting agencies when funds were applied for and used to purchase land or upgrade the equipment or access, and the City of Seattle would be in violation of their grant agreement, exposing it to expensive and unnecessary legal action.
When mentally unstable people with potentially dangerous behavior use our city parks, often leaving garbage and human waste, they create an unsafe environment for children to enjoy playgrounds and prevent everyone from using public spaces. Allowing them to camp will only magnify this issue.
The police won't come when needed or only after a crime has been committed, and there is no budget to help pay for additional police officers. This proposal is creating more problems for our already financially strained community and human services organizations. The city should not hand over public land to special interest or specific populations. Parks are for everyone, please don't make public land exclusive to be used by only certain people. Non-homeless people will no longer feel welcome or safe in public parks.

Not safe for kids in parks. There needs to be legislation passed for improving
the needs of the homeless without putting our families at risk.

This is completely crazy. It's addressing a symptom, ignoring the underlying causes, and creating a BIGGER problem with public safety. This Council is unfit to serve and should be recalled if they pass this law.

Please, for the safety of our kids, do not turn our parks into homeless encampments. Build permanent housing as a solution. Our parks are free spaces for all to enjoy, but if turned into homeless encampments our community will suffer greatly. Portland tried this experiment & after a few months realized it was a dangerous & disaturous plan. Do not make the same mistakes our sister made. Let's collaborate to find and alternative solution, which will ensure the safely our whole community!!!!

There is a serious homeless problem in Seattle but opening up city parks to homeless camps is not a safe or viable solution.

This bill is irresponsible and not well thought out. It goes against the will of the majority of people and should not be allowed.

We must find alternative housing/work for homeless. City needs to work hard to figure out this problem in positive ways for all.

Unless you plan to build bathrooms, provide and empty trash cans for each camper, daily, restrict camping to specific areas where each camper has a site, and hire park rangers to oversee the camping areas and keep them clean and safe, then no.

We already have a hard time providing adequate funding maintaining city parks. This proposed legislation would be a disaster for the cities tax paying population & is in direct conflict with our parks mission- they were never intended to become a campground for drug addicts, alcoholics, mentally ill nor other disadvantaged people.

The homeless need homes like others. And those of us who are not homeless need parks. This idea endangers everyone concerned and would be laughable were it not so serious.

Unbelievable. The city council has lost their minds. They have no idea what our parks and sidewalks will now look like.
