There are so many parks in Seattle I used to feel safe having my children play in. This is no longer the case. We have come across tents and people engaging in drug activity. This is NOT how our parks were meant to be used!!

Bill 118794 is a poorly thought out response to a very real problem.

Please rethink this piece of bad legislation. It will create problems and resolve nothing.

Do NOT pass this ordinance! Nothing could be more disastrous for our beautiful city. The City will also find itself facing lots of unexpected liability and lawsuits. Don't do it! Thanks! Sharon Ramey

This bill is totally irresponsibility and shouldn't be enacted ever! What rights do taxpayers have?

I don't see how this is helping the homeless. It will bring in a lot more homeless from other parts of the country. It is unfair to the tax payers who will not be able to use these parks.

Help them by giving them something to do!

The homeless situation in Seattle is out of hand. The answer is NOT to allow these people to camp in our parks, sidewalks, etc. we need to provide safe living spaces south or north of King County where real estate is cheaper. Our Mayor and City Council are making many long-term King County residents move. We pay HIGH taxes to live here! You should also protect us!

Please do not turn our city parks over to the homeless and please do not turn our city governance to activists with an agenda.

Bad policy, did not work in Portland. More study is needed.

This is probably the worst idea Seattle has come up with in the 17 years I have lived here. Good democrat my whole life but this whole stinking idea has tipped me over. I'm not voting for Trump but I am going to take it out of the hides of every democratic candidate and progressive initiative on the ballot this year. Good job gang!

The city of Seattle is (wisely) closing The Jungle only to open up city parks to similar homeless encampments and it doesn't make any sense besides being harmful to our parks and ecosystems. I fully support housing for the homeless, increasing funding for mental health and addiction support services along with emergency shelters. This is not a money issue! This is about quality of life and supporting the homeless who want to take steps (however small they may be) in a positive direction but NOT supporting a "live however/wherever you want" mentality at the detriment of themselves and the communities around them. Beyond this we've seen this failed model in Portland and should learn from it. I truly hope the mayor and city counsel will not rush into vote and make a mistake for the entire Seattle community. Please consider the true weight of this decision and any other possible options. Seattle-ites are happy to contribute funding towards homeless shelters and initiatives but we want to promote a safe, positive and productive area and environment for everyone.

Where are the facilities going to be for these people? Especially the ones on the trails on the bluffs above Golden Gardens? These people need organized care and services, not a land grant.
