Portland already tried this with disastrous results. No!

Why place this portion of the population in an area where they don't have easy access to social programs like urban rest stops, public health, food banks, etc.? Providing shelter only covers one of many issues that they are facing. This endangers health of our parks, affects local business, threatens the lives of children, and doesnt solve the actual issue.

Rally to oppose this ordinance at 8:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, at City Hall. We need to make homelessness rare, brief, and temporary. We need to end it, not legalize it. Take "Woodland Park" off the caption. It makes it seem like it is specific to stopping legalized camping at that location.

Making city parks homeless encampments is a terrible idea. This cannot be allowed to happen.

You've got to find a better way than opening public parks to encampment... this is just plain lazy.

This idea is a disaster for so many of our bussineses and citizens, it will cause much needed revenue needed to correctly address this issue to disappear.

I'm tired of this. It's time to round them up and deposit them in a big fenced area outside of the city. This activity is nothing we should have to put up with!

No bill like this should be considered without a clear, concrete and sustainable public safety and public health supportive components. Police enforcement needs to be clear and clean-up programs, especially of hazards and biowaste, must be in place.

Absolutely not in our parks.

This is not a solution for the homeless situation. I can't believe it is even being considered.

This is getting ridiculous. I was with someone driving back from the airport and it was just one big garbage dump. They couldn't believe it. This is not the answer

This would be enough reason to leave Seattle, as much as we love living in the city. It represents a line of thinking within city hall that shows they are more concerned with appearing to be humanitarians than creating a vibrant social/economic environment for our city to flourish like it has the past few decades.

This is a not a well thought out plan with many unintended consequences. Do not enact this please!

This is unacceptable! Turning our loved green spaces and communities into unsafe, drug laden homeless encampments is not the answer. Your job as our politicians is to protect the whole, not the minority. This bill doesn't change crime, drugs and homelessness. It just creates more problems in neighborhoods and communities. You are better off leaving them under the interstates if you aren't providing shelter. Oh, and the 30 day allowance for occupying an area is a joke. Who is going to monitor that? We don't have enough police to take care of minor crimes let alone monitoring homeless in the communities. If this bill passes we will move out of Seattle!

This idea does nothing to protect the homeless or the tax paying citizens of Seattle. Please, let's come up with a better idea!
