Westchester county is being sued for not providing affordable housing. Maybe we should find out where all these people come from and start using those states for not caring for their own!

Parks are places where children run and play. With high density already in place, if the Parks are no longer safe places for children and families to visit, where can they go? There are a lot of vacant buildings that could be converted into co-housing dwellings for the homeless. That could be a win/win...community dwellings and the retention of parks as safe places for all citizens.

As a physician, I know that having these overpopulated homeless encampments are a set up for a public health disaster. There is going to be widespread infectious disease especially with poor sanitation. They need to be in permanent structures, not living In poorer conditions then we would find acceptable for our dogs.

These conditions are not safe and are dehumanizing to the homeless population of Seattle. Two Words: Affordable Housing!

We have a small neighborhood park across the street from our house. I worry about the children and dogs that play there. And if people starting camping there, what will happen to our home values?

Two years ago the citizens of Seattle voted to create a Park District and approved a tax of $48 million yearly to clear park maintenance and make other improvements. Now, the Council is considering taking away the use and enjoyment of these spaces for homeless camping.

We need more time to study this.

A poorly written bill with huge implications. This needs more public comment. A more careful vetting. More study to determine financial and social implications.

Letting the homeless into the parks is not going to solve the homeless issue. It is going to create a wasteland where no one can take their children to the park and will move out of the Seattle City Limits and effectively lower the property tax base by creating homes that will lower in value.

As a Seattle resident, allowing the homeless problem to shift to a homeless and parks problem is not wise or respectful of the voting public who passed levies to improve parks and use them as such. This is a bad solution and should not be passed. I intend to hold my representative accountable if it does.

Please, please do not allow this misguided legislation to ruin our parks, fields, and other public spaces! Allowing the homeless to camp out here is in no way a solution to our homeless problem. It is reckless, dangerous and a threat to the health and safety of our community. Please go back to the drawing board and come up with a common sense plan.

Do not turn our parks into the Jumgle (green belt off of I5). It's filled with human waste, used needles, peddle bike chop shops, drugs, and criminal activity. That would be possible the worst thing you could do to our beautiful city. Homeless people from all over the US know our town as "Freeattle" please stop this now by keeping the mentally ill and drug addicted out of our parks!

Public parks are not an appropriate place for homeless encampments. Churches with land should be required to open their properties to the homeless to retain their tax free status. Be the place of refuge for those less fortunate.

Please restore common sense to Seattle! The homeless can not be allowed to set up their filthy camps full of stolen property, shooting up illegal drugs, leaving infected needles around, subjecting citizens to the dangers of their pit bulls and drug induced mood swings.
Their presence is negatively affecting the education of precious children at our schools and parks and welcoming guests to Seattle camped all over the city, even across from the Pacific Science Center.
The ridiculousness must begin and end with you! Use your heads! In all my travels I have not visited a US city with the homeless population taking precedence over its law abiding productive citizens as in Seattle.

Our parks are no place to put these camps.
This is not the answer, period.
