Portland is ruined and I will never go back there and spend money because of this. Don't let people write the same thing about Seattle.

This is a terrible way to solve our homeless problem. It puts out kids and communities in danger.

This is a poorly thought out plan with proven disastrous results in Portland. Not only does this ordinance make parks less safe and sanitary for our children it provides no long term solution to help homeless people. This ordinance is unfair to tax paying citizens and goes against the voting public's wishes

i dont want to pick up a used needle ever again before playing at the park with my daughters. i have no issue helping support those who are less fortunate but this legislation lacks foresight to see the potential down stream impact on the communites that will be pay required to support it.

This is absolutely the by far the worst thing this inept city council has come up with. Endangering everyone from the women running in our parks to the kids playing. All for yet ANOTHER bandaid.

This is not a long term solution. A real solution involves actual housing.

How many ways do you want people to experience stability hopelessness.
You know this band aid is not sufficient to the gush of homelsss people. This includes CHILDREN-so the cycle can continue.

How dare the city council even contemplate talking our parks and public spaces away and give them to drug addicts? Do you not see how this affects us all? Give the parks back to the kids.

Something similar to the proposed Council action was tried in Portland, failed, and was then stopped (see Danny Westneat, Seattle Times, October 9, 2016). Why is our Council failing to do their homework and instead choosing to subject all of us, including the homeless population, to something already proven to be a failed solution?

Please defer the vote on Council Bill 118794 to allow a good length of time for study of the situation resulting in permanent housing for the homeless. Thanks.

This is crazy. A friend takes her son to baseball and the boys have to pick up needles on the field before they play! Homeless camp right beside field.....
