Listen to your constituents. We are the tax payers. We are the ones affected so greatly by this insane proposal.

What is being proposed is *Absolutely Wrong!* Surely there must be other ways. Our parks shouldn't be trashed or trash bins. We aren't paying for that!

People belong in shelters, homes or rehab facilities- not outside! We all need to do our part to help those in need get where they belong. If the roles were reversed- wouldn't you want someone to show you some grace and help you get the tools you need to succeed?

I have a better idea. How about the members of the City Council open up their front lawns and backyards first to see how it might impact Seattle residence and go from there.

Seattle City Council - please defer the vote on allowing homeless and transient people the right to camp in over 5,200 acres of city parks throughout Seattle as well as sidewalks, parking strips and other publicly owned spaces.
Homeless people belong in homes, rehab facilities, mental health facilities and/or other places where they can get the help they need. Not only does the proposed ordinance not provide help, the law will lead to the devastation of our parks that residents, tax payers, and families all have a right to use safely.

Let me make this clear to council members. This is non negotiable for me. If you sign this bill I will take my family and my taxes and move to the east side. If you choose to turn this beautiful city into a pile of trash, you will have many high income families choosing the same. Be careful what you vote for.

We need to keep our cities safe for ourselves, our families and our children. And we need to develop programs to assist the homeless with issues surrounding medical, addiction, mental health problems, And stop violence and drug use!

Dangerous plan for our community to allow squatters to occupy all public public space and parks. Squatters would be Allowed to call the shots and mandate rules to those of us who pay taxes. With the Fourth largest homeless community in the US it's clear Seattle's approach to homelessness has failed. It's time for new leadership and a new approach to addressing homelessness.

I do not agree with this legislation. Why is this not presented to voters?

Please take heed of Portlands experiment with allowing homeless camps in their public properties. It didn't work. I am a volunteer of 10 years with a local food bank. I am a compassionate person. But turning over our public property and sidewalks for encampments will not solve the problem. Perhaps finding a way to make the Jungle legit would help. Many of these folks do not want to be in shelters where they have to pack up every day. Many will not conform to the requirements of housing like sobriety and no drug use. Many have mental illness and their self medicating will not be tolerated. Think outside the box.

We must address the root cause, but what we cannot do is sacrifice our city's and our childrens' safety. In addition, this will cause harm to the countless hours and dollars that has be put into preserving these spaces.

I am a granny; I don't want my parking strip filled with debris. BAD IDEA! Throw out the city council bums who would vote to put this on my parking strip and in the parks.

please get to work on a solution that doesn't enable and even encourage homelessness. Working with and helping homeless people with regularity I believe that this is going to hurt people in the long run.

This is a lazy solution to a huge issue. It is unsafe to the city of Seattle and it's citizens to allow the homeless to camp out in public parks.
