The experiment in Portland shows us that this plan does not work to put homeless people in our public parks and sidewalks and parking strips.

This really should be voted on by the people being affected, which is the neighborhoods and residents that pay for these parks.

Our parks are a precious resource which need to be preserved for everyone, not given to one constituency.

Please take into consideration the safety of all tax paying citizens who make the parks possible. How are the responsible citizens to enjoy their own neighborhoods while feeling safe? This is not a solution for homelessness.

Sustainable long term people and commmunity centric solutions are required. This isn't an easy fix but this is a very hasty decision.

Park encampment is not the solution.

I think this proposal is a terrible idea that does not help homeless people and will destroy our city parks.

This is ridiculous!! We need to find a different solution not invade the areas our kids play in. Furthermore we pay taxes as a community to use these public areas. Now we have to pay more taxes because the city council thinks this is a good idea and we won't be able to safely use some of these areas. I don't think so

NO homeless camping in parks. We paid for them, and they belong to us, not them.

Please leave our parks for children, families and for the elderly to enjoy as a peaceful haven in our urban environment.

No to Seattle parks becoming squatters' encampments.

The proposed ordinance is ludicrous and must be stopped.

Don't come asking for tax dollars for parks from me again if this gets passed. Parks are for the folks who pay taxes to maintain them. I am pretty left leaning voter, but Seattle City Council needs a bit of house cleaning if they let this one pass. Really unbelievable irresponsible behavior from our city council. Tim Burgess is the only one that seems to have any common sense.

I would very much appreciate it if our City Council REPRESENTED us - as we elected them to do - instead of making autonomous decisions.

Absolutely, no way this Council Bill 118794 should be allowed to pass. It completely defies all logic.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of why would you take a perfectly good park
and give it to the homeless instead of letting the kids play in it just ridiculous

Please do not do this to our beautiful city. It will absolutely not solve the problem. It will only create a profound new mess. It does nothing to take care of homeless people, just moves them into our parks, where they are still homeless, and makes the parks unusable for much-needed recreation.
